Remember Reverend Potter? Well he’s back tonight, as is a “no questions asked” gun buy back program. If you don’t remember, Potter is not a fan of Frank and protested against him being the commissioner. But since he’s a friend of the Mayor, he gets to come back.

In other news, the “no questions asked” buy back program means people can turn in guns and nothing happens. Naturally, Danny wants to hunt down the owner of a gun linked to a crime. Because he wouldn’t be Danny if he let it be.

Nicky gets an interesting story this week in the form of a teenage angst/bullying/sexting story. Nicky’s friend, Diane, is excited for the upcoming dance with hopes of getting asked by a boy she’s flirting with during lunch. While she’s all giddy, a mass text message – a la Gossip Girl – is sent of her with a “selfie” (sexy picture of oneself). Nicky is speechless and doesn’t come to her defense. After it happens, good ol’ Uncle Jamie gives her the advice of Grandpa .. “It’s what you do next that counts.” Diane doesn’t accept Nicky’s apology or her offer to have Jamie track down the person who sent it. Wouldn’t she want to find out? Not exactly, since Jamie tells Nicky she did it herself! Nicky figures out Diane wanted to get noticed, and the world of teenagers is similar to that of a celebrity – any press, even bad press, is worth it because it gets you noticed. In the end, Nicky and Diane have a talk, where Diane admits what she did and why (Nicky was right). They make up, agreeing to hang out.

Frank is not happy that Potter is back but supports the “No Questions Asked” gun buy back program. He sends Garrett to oversee things at the church where the guns are being brought in to make sure things go smoothly. When a gun is brought in that was used in a robbery earlier that day (which, of course, is Danny’s case), a cop takes a picture of the man who brought the gun in. Although he doesn’t realize it, Potter does. When he accuses her, Garrett comes to her defense and tells Potter to back off. She takes the picture – which she had quickly put in the trash bin of her phone – to Danny and Jackie. Danny tries really hard not to use the photo since it goes against everything the program stands for. Eventually they make an arrest but Frank tells him to let the guy go, which he does. Starting from scratch, they work the case the normal way and find out the guy they arrested wasn’t the shooter but rather his brother. They find him and arrest him and make it stick the good ol’ way. The cop who took the photo – which technically wasn’t a question – is not reprimanded but rather made to volunteer at Potter’s church. Frank, meanwhile, decides to tell Potter and the Mayor the truth. He prefaces it by telling them about all the positive press they got in this could be a hiccup. He tells them the basics – a gun was brought in that was used in a shooting – and the rest is information for people who need-to-know, and if they knew, they wouldn’t be able to deny knowing. They both agree the program was a success and don’t ask any further questions.

Next week, Jamie saves a baby’s life and puts his undercover assignment at risk.

Thoughts from the episode:
– I’m pretty sure Frank’s “need to know file” was empty. He knew Potter and the Mayor wouldn’t want to know.
– I was also pretty sure Nicky’s storyline was going down the bullying/suicide way and I’m glad they didn’t. Instead they showed sometimes all you need is one person in your corner.
– I enjoyed Jamie and Nicky interacting together.
– I also enjoyed Garrett bantering with Potter. He’s a great character. Love him.
– Henry is great even when he’s not on-screen. “It’s what you do next that counts.” How great is that??

Next week is going to be great! I can feel it. But that’s it from me, what about you? Leave your two cents below!
