People are strange. That is what I have begun to surmise with tonight’s events. First Adam kisses his ex-girlfriend, Rachel (apparently he’s forgotten about Chunhua and all the issues, even for that brief moment?) and then Harry talks to a man who claims his girlfriend has been locked in her basement by her husband.
There’s the woman that comes into the office saying she wants to divorce her husband…and in the end it’s a strange twist! We also have the Jenna/Malcolm kiss from last week’s episode that still needs to be dealt with.
In walks a man who claims his girlfriend has been locked in her basement by her husband. The woman was supposed to tell her husband she was leaving him and when the boyfriend doesn’t hear from her, he fears the worst. Why go see Harry? What is she supposed to do? Why not do the right thing and go to the police and let them handle it? They, after all, are the professionals.
The husband, in my opinion, is NUTS. He won’t let his wife go because she has fidelity issues and takes things into his own hands and locks her in a safe room. It’s a room that nobody can get into. I think the worst part of it all is he seems to be okay with it all and at one point, offers Harry cookies that he is baking. He locks his wife in the basement and he is baking cookies? You have to be kidding me! This man has real mental issues and needs help!
Harry ends up coming back to see him with Tommy as her backup. They try and convince this guy that he is a wounded man since he came back from Iraq and that in order to get better, he needs help. Tommy, himself, is a veteran of the Vietnam War and knows what he is dealing with from seeing what other soldiers have come back to. It ends up getting them into trouble when Tommy and Harry are lead into the basement….to only be locked up in the safe room as well! Finally we see that he agrees that he needs help – and his wife is willing to stick by him in his time of need.
While Harry goes and deal with the man with the wife in the basement, that leaves Adam to meet with a woman, Lynette, who wants to file for divorce. The reason for the divorce? She set up a meeting for her and her husband with a woman she hired off of Craigslist to spice up the marriage. But, that backfires. A few weeks after Lynette ended the whole thing, she found her husband in bed with the woman.
Of course, this woman backfires again. As Adam is having dinner with Chunhua, he sees the woman who is accused of ending the marriage having dinner with the wife! I can’t believe it when we find out that the wife hired the woman to break up her marriage so that she could get what is coming to her from the pre-nup!
We finally see Jenna and Malcolm deal with the kiss from last week. Until now, we see Jenna storm around as well as try and avoid Malcolm. Malcolm finally admits his feelings to Jenna and asks her out on a date, but Jenna doesn’t get it. Here he is trying to be open and honest and she is blowing him off? Come on Jenna! He tells you he is young and doesn’t read women well! Let him take you on a date already!
