Steve Carell to Leave The Office?

finishing early? that's what she said

Looks like Dunder Mifflin might have one less employee on the payroll.

TVGuide reports that Steve Carell, who plays The Office’s wonderfully awkward Michael Scott, might leave the series after next year.

While out promoting his new movie Date Night, Carell stated that his contract runs through next season and that he might not renew it once it is over. NBC declined to comment.

What do you think? Can The Office survive without Carell?

Nope. Don’t get me wrong, I love the supporting cast, but without Michael ruling the roost you’ve just got a bunch of quasi-oddballs working in an office. Sounds like where I work. Well, we don’t have a Dwight, but I don’t think Dwight can carry it all.
