The opening number is kind of like “The Wiz” on acid, but crazy and fun. I’m surprised to hear that it’s a Tabatha and Napolean routine, as they usually do more straight concepts. It’s on to the results and the eliminations, who makes it into the top 10? I’m not that happy about it – are you?
Bottom Three Girls
Karen: I don’t think she is as attractive to the viewing audience as she is to the judges, which would explain why she is in the bottom so often. For her solo, she swivels her hips, which we know the judges like, but is it enough after she has been in the bottom so often.
Mollee: Bendy, acrobatic Mollee, she’s fighting tonight. Her strength and technique should be enough to get her through to the top 10, and the judges really liked her last night. But they also seem to have a real problem with her young, innocent and sometimes juvenile approach to life/the show/her dancing/etc.
Ellenore: Wow, I’m really surprised. She rocked last night. I’m sorry to show favoritism (not really) but I love her. She has the total package for me: personality, technique and something “x”
Bottom Three Boys
Victor: He should be someone we’re all connecting to, but I don’t think we are. More strength moves and contemporary dancing from Victor. Something is just missing.
Nathan: Adam has a point when he talks about Nathan’s immaturity in his intro clips, but does he belong in the bottom? He’s trying something a little quirky, which could be great or could be disastrous.
Ryan: Still surprised! It must be so hard for men to do solo ballroom routines, but he plays it up for the crowd and throughout the competition has seemed to truly be enjoying himself.
American Ballet Theatre ballerina is gorgeous en pointe, and it makes me hope that Jakob and Mollee get to do a Pas de Deux later in the season. Shakira is amazing, and I love the stepping feel to her dancers. I admit to wishing she had performed SheWolf instead of this song though, this was just kind of bland compared to her usual stuff.
