This episode felt as though we’d hit the pause button during the holidays and now we’ve hit play again. Nothing has happened since the last episode, but plenty happened in this one.

A few highlights from the episode: the return of Wendy Scott-Carr, the introduction of TR Knight’s new political operator, Alicia and Kalinda finally get their friendship back on track and Alicia beats Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) – no, make that trounces him.

But it’s not all smooth sailing. Not on the Good Wife.

Steve comes rushing into the kitchen wailing this week. Devon’s retiring! Who’s Devon you ask – why the mailman – the only one Steve has ever known and who’s shorts were the harbinger of summer. This sets Francine into a tirade on how they never follow through on anything. None of them have stuck with their New Year’s resolutions. But Roger comes in and reminds them all it’s Mardi Gras – meaning that the next day is the beginning of Lent and another opportunity to do it right.

And so, a deal is struck – they can all get rip-roaring drunk at Roger’s party that night if they agree to try their resolutions again for Lent.

Welcome to Monty Python’s Family Guy. I love it! The intro was done so perfectly!

We segue from there into Chris doing an oral presentation of his report “Following Mrs. Donovan”. I’m not sure which is more upsetting – Chris stalking his teacher or that his teacher seems to be clinically depressed. I will agree though, Nathaniel Hawthorne was a party to ruining the 9th Grade for everyone.

During the last episode, Daniel became CEO of Grayson Global after successfully convincing the board to vote against Conrad. Daniel dumped Ashley after finding her with another man (which was actually a Victoria setup). Marco joined ranks with Daniel as NolCorp was absorbed by Grayson Global. Victoria called Emily, asking her for help with Daniel.

This week, Daniel is falling into his new job as CEO. He is approached by Helen Crowley (the creepy woman from the Initiative) and is encouraged to dig closer to home to find out secrets that will help him and Grayson Global become more powerful. Daniels follows her suggestion, and enlists Nolan to help him build a program to search through the Grayson Global computers for some of these secrets.

Happy Endings
Foul Play/Date

ABC has decided to air new episodes of Happy Endings in the Sunday 10:00 slot, while also airing new episodes at its regular time, Tuesday at 9. Even though this is probably happening because of a combo of low ratings for the show and nothing else being ready to air, I love that we’re getting 2 episodes a week of this amazing show.

In last night’s fantastic episode, Brad & Penny accidentally kill Alex’s racist parrot, while Jane & Dave set Max up on 2 different dates that seem very familiar. Read on for the recap!

TwoCents and Five Questions with Sutton Foster and Amy Sherman-Palladino (Bunheads)

Amy Sherman-Palladino, Executive Producer
Sutton Foster, Actor

Last summer, ABC Family aired Bunheads, a show by executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, who also created the well-loved Gilmore Girls. Bunheads is the story of a dancer named Michelle (Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster) who is stuck in Las Vegas until a nice man named Hubbell (Alan Ruck), whom she does not love, entices her to marry him and move to Paradise, Calif. Unfortunately, he forgot to mention that he lives with his mother Fanny (Kelly Bishop), who runs a ballet school. Then he dies at the end of the first episode, leaving her his estate — and his hostile mother.

The show, which features ballet dancers and dance numbers, has been given a 10-episode winter season. We pick up after Michelle, who ruined the school’s production of “Nutcracker,” has moved back to Las Vegas. The first new episode airs tonight at 9 p.m.

TheTwoCents: So much of the first season was about the character of Michelle struggling to adjust to life in Paradise, but when she returns are we going to see more of the same sort of fish out of water issues, or is she going to get more settled in?

What’s in a New Year’s resolution? It’s a reminder to ourselves to do better; a goal to strive towards; a change that we think is needed. For us mere mortals, a resolution is going to the gym (not for the bathroom or a tour). For Queen Regina in post-curse Storybrooke? Not using magic. I say gym, she says magic – I’m weak sauce, I know.

In pre-curse Fairytale, King George’s kingdom has fallen to Charming and Snow. Queen Regina is next but she’s not out to save her kingdom – she wants Snow dead. Regina corners Snow solo. Pixie gives Regina one more chance to surrender – to change. Obviously, Regina politely declines the proposal.
