It’s only January and we are at the season four penultimate episode for Parenthood. Yes, that means there’s only one episode left of the season and I’m not ready to not have my weekly Braverman fix after next week. With that said, this was the perfect episode to drive us into the finale next week.

We get closure (and victories!) on some of the lingering stories, while others continue to linger, with hopes that the finale next week will wrap them up.

Next we say goodbye to our doctors, but before that happens we have to get through the very powerful penultimate episode. We did say goodbye to one thing though… This was no one-character episode. All of our characters had, at least, a moment this week. And what’s most important is… babies!

Before we get to the recap/review portion, I’d like to ask you all to take a moment and share your wish list. What would you like to see happen next week? And, after next week’s finale, I’ll ask you to share what your dreams are for the characters. Yes, we all know they’re not real, but it doesn’t hurt to imagine their happily-ever-afters, does it?

The cases of the week deal with a man with cystic fibrosis who doesn’t know if he can live anymore, and a psychic who predicts that she’ll die in the hospital within 24 hours. Read on for this week’s recap!

Welcome to the second episode of the season. Last week really left a lot to be desired. There really wasn’t too much that made it interesting, especially since besides the very beginning there was nothing that actually happened with the Marshals, and I have to say I was looking forward to seeing Art.

Boyd seems to have dipped his hands into all illegal activity now and Ava is completely behind him in all that he is doing. He has a decent group of people that seem to be following him, at least Boyd seems to be able to trust them. Raylan seems to be going through a lot with Winona being gone… again. He seems to be saving money so that he is able to try and be a good father. Lets see how this week goes.

Lifetime Cancels Drop Dead Diva

According to Deadline, Lifetime has decided not to renew Drop Dead Diva for a season five.

Drop Dead Diva wrapped its Season 4 run last September. The show stars Brooke Elliott as a dead model stuck in the body of a curvy lawyer. There’s a possibility that the show’s producers may attempt to shop the series elsewhere.

Bones – Recap & Review – The Diamond In The Rough

Bones
The Diamond in the Rough

The first of a double feature Bones, starts out with Sweets watching a ghost-hunter-like show and getting quite excited as the host finds a glowing apparition…I mean skeleton. Yes, Sweets is still living at the Booth/Brennan household which is ok with me. There have been some fun conversations/situations that I quite enjoyed.

Most interesting in this storyline is Angela’s itchiness to leave this job and get back to doing real artistry work. She is tired of all the death and ugliness that goes with it and wants to look and art that is beautiful.

Bones
The Archaeologist In The Cocoon

In the second half of our double feature we find the remains of an archaeologist in a tree and he is cocooned in a web with worms that fall out onto the face of Bones. That was about the extent of the ick-factor in this episode.

Most of the episode deals with the competitive nature that Bones has and I don’t only mean at work, it seems she wants her daughter to hit the milestones much earlier than the other children too. This has Sweets concerned on her competitive pressure as a mom.

The Carrie Diaries
Pilot

Original Air Date: Jan 14, 2013

This series, based on the book series of the same name, is set in 1984 and follows a young Carrie Bradshaw (yes, that Carrie Bradshaw) as she gets through her junior year of high school. Following the death of her mother three months ago, Carrie finds comfort in her friends and, thanks to her father, a new internship in Manhattan.

Throughout the pilot, we meet a variable bunch of characters covered in the best 80’s fashion and see the very beginnings of the young columnist. This was probably the best CW pilot I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen most of them). Want to know why? Read on for the recap!

Switched At Birth
The Awakening Conscience

Original Air Date: Jan 14, 2013

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor

After last week’s second season set-up episode, the plots gain some movement this evening. Characters looked to the past and the future for inspiration, but one started over, surprisingly, from the beginning.

Last year, all of the characters came together to form their new blended family. But now, we’re at a point we’re the family dynamic is fluid; it’s the external people who make the waves. And nobody is as much of an outsider these days than Angelo, largely by his own doing.
