…Tricia Helfer, Actor

You may know her as Six… or Caprica, or Gina, or Shelly, or Natalie… and that’s just on one show! Tricia Helfer took time out of her busy schedule to answer our questions about the end of Battlestar Galactica and her new beginnings on Burn Notice and Chuck. Don’t worry, we made it out alive.

Question: How have you managed your career jump, from being discovered as a model in Alberta to Battlestar Galactica and Burn Notice and Chuck?

TH: To be honest, it is the career path that I never thought I would be going down. When I was in high school I thought I was going to university into psychology. As you said, I was discovered by a model scout and I thought I’d give that a try. Cut to ten years later, eight years later, I had a great career, but feeling like I wanted more and definitely something more intriguing for the mind. So I started acting classes just on a whim, thinking it would help with commercial auditions while I modeled for another year or two. And then I figured I’d probably—I was in the finding out stage of what I was going to do and was I going to go back to university or what, and got into an acting class and absolutely fell in love with it from the first class.

TwoCents & Five Questions With…

Danny Gokey

Danny Gokey

… Danny Gokey, Reality Star

Surviving Being the Frontrunner

Patricia Morris Buckley – Associate Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

Danny Gokey knows that people are talking about him. As the frontrunner coming into the semifinals, there was little doubt that he’d make the Top 12. At least, most people thought so.

“I did [think I could be eliminated],” he said the day after he made the Top 12. “I prepared myself mentally while I was up there, while Ryan was talking. I said, ‘If this is it, I am going to go out gracefully’” and just thankful for the opportunity. In this competition, you just can never be too confident. So, I prepared myself. But, thank God, I didn’t go home.”

Eliza Dushku/photo: fox

Eliza Dushku, Actor/Producer

Eliza Dushku is known to many as Faith in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe from the mind of Joss Whedon. Hoping that lightening strikes twice, Eliza and Joss have developed a new show, Dollhouse, in which she can play any role. Literally. As Echo, a member of a highly illegal and underground group of individuals who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, Eliza will be playing everything from a protector to a lover to, well, lets allow her to talk about it. We had the chance to sit down with her, and this is what she said…

TheTwoCents: Can you talk about how the show has developed from that first meeting with Joss into what it actually became and what we’re going to see this season?

TwoCents & Five Questions With…

Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon, Creator

Many hearts (mine included) skip a beat at the mere mention of the name “Joss Whedon.” An Emmy and Academy Award nominee, Whedon is one of Hollywood’s top talents, scripting several hit films and creating one of television’s most critically praised shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After the cult success of Buffy, other mediums of entertainment were Whedonized. He is an accomplished composer, the creator behind several Dark Horse Comics graphic novels, and even the mastermind of the Internet sensation Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It seems everything he touches turns to geeky-fan gold. TheTwoCents had a chance to sit down with Mr. Whedon to chat about his next adventure: Dollhouse.

Question: Can you tell us a little bit about the genesis of Dollhouse? What got you thinking about these characters in this world?

Summer Glau/photo: fox

Summer Glau, Actor, and Josh Friedman, Creator

Cameron is a Terminator sent from the future to protect John Connor and his family. Summer Glau is a classically trained ballerina who can kick some major butt on screen. Josh Friedman is the genius who brought the two together in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. TheTwoCents had the opportunity to sit down with Summer and Josh to chat about the character of Cameron, the fate of the show, and how dang hard it is to play a Terminator.

TheTwoCents: Josh, what was it that you all initially saw in Summer that made you all go, “Yes, yes, she’s the right Cameron.”

Miss Piggy, Actress

The long-awaited and brand-spanking new Muppets Christmas special, A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa, finally hits the airwaves tomorrow, Wednesday December 17th, at 8:00 EST on NBC. We were lucky enough to sit down with Miss Piggy (in all her glamorous, karate-chopping glory) and ask a few questions about her return to the small screen, working with the star-studded cast, and (of course) the frog.

TheTwoCents: Miss Piggy, how are things with you and Kermit these days?

John Noble

John Noble

…John Noble, Actor

Dr. Walter Bishop is crazy. But he is also very loveable (I, personally, want to buy him a Root Beer) and a sometimes bit scary (I would not want him to be my doctor), depending on the time of day you talk to him. John Noble plays Walter to a tee on the hit series Fringe, which airs Tuesdays on FOX at 9:00 PM EST. John took some time to sit down with us and talk about the show, his character, and, of course, Gene the Cow.

TheTwoCents: How do you approach the character of Walter and how much fun is he to play?
