Our favorite green hooded hero is finally back…but not like he was before getting his butt kicked by the Archer (Barrowman). It seems that our Arrow has lost his fighting mojo, though I must say that he is keeping himself in tip-top shape and I appreciate that.

Our story revolves around a firefighter that died in a blaze, but not like you would think as we seem to have someone posing as a fireman and setting the other fireman on fire. Our latest victim was married to Jo, a friend of Laurel’s. She in turn takes the phone her father got off Arrow and calls him for help.

It’s hard to imagine how this show has lasted to see a 12th season. Surely the novelty is gone, and there has been a small decline in the audience. But Idol continues to dominate the singing competition slot of reality TV.

And – more importantly – it still produces the biggest stars. Which is probably why the show started with Phil Phillips (last year’s winner) opening with a brief rendition of his big hit “Home.” Just in case we needed that reminder.

Well, we might as well get this out in the open right away: it’s not the Rebel Kings. It’s the Revel Kings. Who else saw that coming? It’s going to take me a while to process this development—i.e. approximately the next thousand words, so strap in!

It’s actually pretty symbolic; (the internet and) I thought Deacon’s new band was one thing, but it turns out they’re something else entirely. I thought they were rebelling against the ‘sex, drugs, and rock and roll’ stereotype, but they’re actually still reveling in it. They haven’t faced up to their darker impulses; they’ve only hidden them. And so it goes with everyone on this show.

A new member has arrived into the funny family! Is it a boy or girl? Let’s get crackin’ and see how the big day went down, shall we?

It’s Manny’s birthday and Jay/Gloria is preparing a surprise party. The poor boy is feeling slightly neglected so this should make him feel special. While running errands for the party, Jay and Gloria embark on a misdemeanor crime spree – stealing a birthday cake and driving through a garage barrier (is that what you call those sticks?). They sure know how to have fun!!

Restaurant Wars! Men vs. Women! French vs. Filipino! And, eventually one teammate vs. another to determine who will go home. This was a good episode with a very deeply unsatisfying ending. You will not be pleased.

Last week set the stage for this week. Kristen and Sheldon won the right to be the executive chefs at restaurants they created and were in charge of opening. They chose teams and Kristen picked Lizzie, Brooke, and Josie. Sheldon picked Stefan and Josh (and Micah).

Why would Aria ever want to watch a scary movie when she’s living one? I guess she was looking for a side of goose bumps to go with the cold shoulder she’s giving Byron. While those two are tap-dancing around discussions about severed heads and where Byron actually ended up the night Ali was killed, the other Liars break into the school to get a better look at Ali’s diary.

Harold’s stuff has been completely cleaned out of the janitor’s office, but there is one surprise left. A Hoodie jumps out at the girls and runs off, but not before Hanna notices his limp. The office isn’t the only thing that’s been scrubbed – when the Liars find Ali’s diary, it’s empty except for one very prominent A. However, the Liars do a pretty good job of filling in the blanks this week as Spencer goes head to head (or brain to brain) with Mona, Aria enlists Meredith’s help, and Hanna finally gets Lucas to talk…
