About A Boy
NBC
Midseason

After writing a hit song, Will Freeman was granted a life of free time, free love and freedom from financial woes. Now he’s single, unemployed and loving it.

So when Marcus (the oddly charming 11-year-old next door neighbor) stops by, Will’s not so sure about being a kid’s new best friend… until Will discovers that women find single dads hot. Well, that changes everything. A deal is struck: Marcus will pretend to be Will’s son, and in return Marcus is allowed to chill at Will’s house, playing ping-pong and gorging on steaks – something Marcus’ single, needy (and very vegan) mother would never allow.

Before he realizes it, Will starts to enjoy Marcus’ visits and even finds himself looking out for the kid. Could it be that maybe there’s something to be said for being a (sort of) responsible adult – at least in a young boy’s eyes?

Starring Minnie Driver (“Good Will Hunting”) and David Walton (“Bent”), based on the best-selling book by Nick Hornby (“High Fidelity,” “An Education”) and written/produced by Jason Katims (“Parenthood,” “Friday Night Lights”) comes a different kind of coming-of-age story. Half-hour comedy (single-camera).

The chefs have to prepare an American classic with an Asian twist. This goes better for some chefs than others. Other chefs got bogged down with bread.

For the Quickfire, the chefs have to pick up where their sous chefs left off in a race to prep ingredients. Did I mention two eliminations this episode?

Wyner C – Associate Staff Writer

I have never equated my job to a knife fight or the people I work with as tigers. If that ever happens, I’m quitting and running the heck outta there. In this world of fictional corporate law – Pearson Darby’s workers’ comp must be through the roof! Every case is a knife fight to the death and every co-worker can bite off your head even if unprovoked. With all the double crosses and trust issues, that sounds about right.

Pornstache is back and I’m disappointed he doesn’t have his own “bow-chicka-bow-wow” soundtrack. Ava Hessington is arrested for conspiracy to commit murder of six anti-pipeline activists in shady African country. She pled guilty to bribing the colonel and Pornstache believes the colonel murdered the activists at Ava’s behest. To tell you the truth, flimsy at best.

Annie heads back to Colombia and has some super fun times with Calder, Arthur tries to help Teo and Joan comes up against a tough Senator on her path to DCS in this week’s episode of Covert Affairs.

We finally get to hear the truth behind Teo’s mission and why he is where he is as Annie tells Arthur about what Henry wants her to do. Turns out he was an undercover operative at the ALC and that’s why he may be connected to a bombing plot. While dear ol’ dad is defending his son and his cover, Joan isn’t so sure that he hasn’t gone rogue making things just a bit chillier on the Joan/Arthur front.
