In the first part of the last two episodes of the season, Sarah and Mason fly to L.A. to shoot her Dove commercial. Conner is acting like he’s handling his break up with Mason better than would be expected but, as my friend said, “He looks like he had a day.”

All right, I’ve got to devote a paragraph to this adorable Conner and Sarah moment. The episode starts with Conner wearing a Snuggie, which has got to be one of the weirdest “inventions” ever. Conner makes this ridiculous thing that makes him look like Cookie Monster adorable because he got Sarah one. What makes it even better is that later, in her hotel room, she answers the door wearing it.

No, nobody’s singing songs from the Broadway musical (Decide for yourself whether to be disappointed or relieved). Instead, Christine brings lice into Ritchie’s school. She is humiliated, so she takes him to a public school- where she humiliates herself.

That’s right, kids… a two-parter episode that takes place NOT at Sacred Heart, but in the Bahamas, complete with impromptu wedding and those cursed tiki idols from the Brady Bunch two-parter episode that took place NOT in the Mike-designed 70s wonder house, but in Hawaii. No, there was not a water-ski jump over a shark enclosure. Yet… it did say “Part I” right?

A guy rides up on a horse, and is mad at Richard for bringing Little Ben into the temple. “Is this Medieval Lost?” my roommate asked, and for a second I was hopeful, but no. Just…no. This episode showed so much promise in last week’s teaser trailer, but I was really underwhelmed. Richard says Jacob wanted him to save Ben, and the guy on the horse turns out to be Widmore. But where did he get the horse? Readers, help me out on this one.

OK, who thinks there are ought to be a law that the judges don’t talk too much in the beginning of the show so that contestants in the end will get more than 30 hurrried seconds worth of comments? Or worse, they get no comments at all because the DVR has shut off and practically no even gets to see their performance?

HBO Renews “Eastbound & Down”

138HBO has renewed the comedy series EASTBOUND & DOWN for a second season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations, HBO. Production on the new episodes will begin later this year, with debut slated for 2010.

Starring Danny McBride (“Tropic Thunder,” “Pineapple Express”), EASTBOUND & DOWN tells the story of Kenny Powers, who used to be a star pitcher until his self-destructive behavior knocked him out of Major League Baseball. In the first season of the series, he returned home to North Carolina to teach Phys Ed at the middle school he once attended, and eventually scored another big-league job offer.

“EASTBOUND & DOWN’s raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season, and we’re happy to bring the show back for more innings,” noted Lombardo. “It will be fun to see what happens to Kenny in season two.”

Leave it to FX, and Rescue Me in particular, to go the extra mile. While other shows open their season with a bang, Rescue Me opens with a fireworks show.

After a disappointing fourth season, the comedy/drama about the FDNY got the green light for an extended season of 22 episodes. Last season was salvaged by the gracious end to the Gavin family AA meetings and the tragic finale that said goodbye to Tommy’s dad (Charles Durning). From the looks of things in this episode, expect a major rebound.

Okay, today’s lesson was this: Hollywood is clearly awesome. Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin impersonators walk the streets, nepotism is well and a live, and every time you turn around someone is getting shot or telling on someone else for shooting someone. Clearly, Liz has a different definition of awesome than most people, but in her fiction, she’ll take it.

What a strange night of performances. We were treated to performances from Etta James and Demi Lovato, a legendary performer and a Disney performer. We found out our saved couples, and our bottom two: David Alan Grier and Lawrence Taylor had to dance for their lives. So, who danced his way to safety and who kicked his way off the stage permanently?
