“Actor Dom DeLuise, whose career spanned more than 50 years and included memorable turns in The Cannonball Run and Blazing Saddles, died Monday night in Los Angeles, TMZ reports. He was 75. The Brooklyn native was a veteran of stage (including the 1968 Broadway production of Neil Simon’s Last of the Red Hot Lovers), television (he hosted his own variety shows, The Dom DeLuise Variety Show and Dom DeLuise and Friends), and film.

He debuted on the big screen in 1964’s Fail Safe, but is best known for his frequent collaborations with close friend Burt Reynolds (Smokey and the Bandit II, Cannonball Run I & II, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and, DeLuise’s personal favorite, The End).

“I have been dreading this moment,” Reynolds said through his publicist. “Dom always made everyone feel better when he was around and I will miss him very much.”

“I can’t wait to see my name on a trivia card,” he said less than 12 hours after being eliminated a second and final time. “That makes me feel really special. I guess it shows people that someone thought I have talent.”

The real time clock is ticking as there are only 4 episodes left in the season. Jack Bauer is still chasing his friend who has a sinister plan. And Olivia Taylor is not happy with the amnesty that he brother’s killer received and wants to do something about it.

Tony and his gang of bad guys are still working their setup of Jibraan to look like a terrorist. Tony tells him to read a statement, and if he refuses he will kill his brother. Jack tells Chloe to start looking for suspected Muslim extremists with the hope that they will find who Tony is targeting. Jack has to excuse himself due to his illness, and then finally Renee tells Chloe what’s happened to him. Chloe shares a moment with Jack, but he wants her to focus on finding Tony.
