Wow. That’s my one word review right there. Reactions to this episode seem to be all over the map and some have said this episode bored them, but luckily for you guys, I was not one of them. I fell into the opposite end of the spectrum. I was hooked through the whole thing. Even the part of me that thinks Reid has been through enough torture, thank you very much, wasn’t bothered by what happened to him. Well, I was bothered, but in the way that I should be, not in the ‘I’m going to start throwing things at my screen if they don’t stop heaping on the Reid angst’ way.

This year’s promised shocking finale started with a really cute guy weaving stuff on a loom, and after my flashback to my 5th grade trip to Colonial Williamsburg, the hot guy went out to the beach and caught some fish near the foot statue, which at this point is actually an entire statue that looks kind of like Anubis. Another man joins him as they watch the Black Rock sail nearby, and the second man says he wants to kill the first one, who is actually Jacob. Confused yet? I’ll do my best to turn this episode into something coherent.

Justin Prentiss is dead in the woods, but never fear, CBI is on the case. Jane is loving the great outdoors, and while local police chief Brody is less than charmed, she will soon see how things roll when the CBI comes into town. Jane grabs basic forensic information off the body, and even though both the police chief and Justin’s principal at Brightarch, Mr. McClane, are doubtful, he not only manages to insult them both but proves himself totally right when he finds where Justin had been buried alive and dug himself out.

A simple poker game between a couple of friends turns into something completely different when a man falls against the window. He dies on the cold tiles of the stone veranda. Immediately the house and garden are covered with security agents all trying to get the lead on this case, FBI, CIA and ICE. However NCIS is the one who wins since it happened at SecNav’s mansion and their medical examiner is the first on the scene.

It was a night of threes. The 300th episode. The three top contestants, or as Ryan called them, the Three Amigos. And only one of the three triumphed on BOTH his songs. That would be the third contestant to perform.

FOX has renewed LIE TO ME – one of the season’s top new series among Adults 18-49 – for a second season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. In addition, Shawn Ryan, creator and executive producer of “The Shield,” joins the series as an executive producer and show-runner.

“LIE TO ME came out strong, built a solid audience throughout its run and promises to be one of our big assets next season and beyond,” said Reilly. “We’re incredibly excited to have Shawn on board to infuse LIE TO ME with even more creative energy next season.”

In the explosive season finale episode airing Wednesday, May 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), a terrorist bombing outside of Washington, DC causes FBI Agent Ben Reynolds (guest star Mekhi Phifer) to call on The Lightman Group to help identify those responsible and prevent more attacks. The case takes a personal turn for one member of the team and begs the question of whether honesty is indeed the best policy. Zoe (guest star Jennifer Beals) helps her ex-husband Lightman with the investigation, and both are concerned about their daughter’s safety.

Tim Roth

…Tim Roth, Actor

Tim Roth has, over the course of his career, garnered critical praise and recognition for such films as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Rob Roy (for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor). He’s recently brought his amazing talent to the small screen to play Dr. Cal Lightman on FOX’s Lie To Me, based on the real life work of Dr. Paul Ekman, a ‘human lie detector’. The show has quickly become one of FOX’s highest rated shows, and we had a chance to talk to Mr. Roth about his experiences working on it.

TheTwoCents: There are a lot of shows around right now–Criminal Minds, for example, which was your competition before you switched time slots–that focus on behavioral analysis and things like that. What do you think sets Lie to Me apart from the other shows?
