“This is not a fishing strategy, this is a self preservation strategy” says Keith Colburn of the Wizard at the beginning of tonight’s show. Last week we ended with the cliffhanger of a large, rogue wave hitting the vessel with the men trying to set up a tarp on the bow to keep ice off of the pots. What happened? Let’s find out together…

It’s official, kids: Futurama is back!

Six years after Fox aired the “final” episode, Futurama has been bought by Comedy Central (who have ordered 26 new episodes to air starting in 2010!).

Adds Matt Groening: “We’re thrilled Futurama is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000.”

My Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades

Guest Star: Josh Brolin
Season 1, episode 4

Valeria – Senior Reviewer

So far, I can’t seem to escape visions of Chuck Bass and Gossip Girl each time I watch an episode of 21 Jump Street. Last time around, it was Johnny Depp and his gorgeous jawline that reminded me of Mr. Chuckles. This time it’s a young Josh Brolin with a gorgeous jawline, windswept hair, and a collection of perfectly tailored prepster duds. Oh, and a crapload of cocaine.

New Gossip Baby!

source: wireimage.com

source: wireimage.com

Kelly Rutherford, who plays Lily (Van Der Woodsen) Bass reportedly gave birth to a baby girl on Monday night at around 10pm. According to Radaronline.com, the baby, Helena, was delivered at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood. Rutherford already has another son, Hermes, 2, with her estranged husband Daniel Giersch.

The thing about the Gossip Girl parents having babies now, is a big reason why I find it hard to suspend my belief that they have children that are going to college. Lily should have had Serena and Eric when she was like, in high school, or something to be looking as flawless as she does. Then again, botox does wonders for the UES set.

Congrats to Lily Kelly!

Chuck Bass Gets His Dues

photo: Young Hollywood Awards

photo: movieline

At Movieline’s Young Hollywood Awards on Sunday night, Ed Westwick took home the award for Male Breakthrough Performance for his portrayal of the delicious, reformed, tortured, womanizer Chuck Bass.

He may not get an Emmy nod like I wish he would, but at least he finally got some media recognition for his work on the show. Don’t tell anyone, but him and Leighton Meester are basically the only reasons why I watch.

Did I mention that he was looking delicious in head-to-toe Gucci? Well, I just did.

Spaced – Summer DVD Review – Beginnings

Spaced
Beginnings

Season 1, Episode 1

JD – Associate Staff Writer

You put Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright together, and what do you get? Genius films like Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Of course, those are all the big screen efforts, but what about the small screen? Well, look back a decade in the past to 1999 and you’ll find Spaced, a quirky comedy about a group of people trying to find their place in the world as they tread that murky place somewhere between youth and adulthood. Well, that’s the serious way to put it, anyway. The more realistic way to put it is “a group of utter nutjobs who wind up thrust together by a twist of fate and have to learn to endure each others issues… all while trying to find their place in the world at a rather confusing stage of life”.

Oh My God! This show is getting more intense as the weeks go by. I am just going to say to all of you that are not watching- START! Or get the DVD when it comes out, I will! It is that good! Anyways, here is what is happening: Everyone is packing to leave and get the hell off this God forsaken island of doom, but creepy Madison is missing and can’t be found. Henry asks for help to look for her and would you believe that Cal is the one who steps up to the plate first? Way to go English!
