Eddie and Pippin are staking out an illegal fight club. Eddie is a bit worried about Pippin’s virtue so he goes in first. It looks like he might be in a little over his head, though, when he’s immediately dragged into the ring with a brute twice his size. Aaaand… he’s down. Downed by the man with a Union Jack tooth.

New Shows on NBC – Parenthood and Community

photo: nbc

photo: nbc

Coming this fall to NBC are two new shows with popular names attached. Joel McHale who currently helms The Soup on E! and Chevy Chase (last seen on NBC’s Chuck) will be heading up the show Community. The plot revolves around a group of people attending community college. Joel plays a character trying to earn a legit law degree.

Parenthood‘s big names include Maura Tierney, Craig T. Nelson, and Peter Krause, playing the roles of parents trying to raise kids in a modern world, and the kids trying to cope with parents who seem like they just don’t get it.

Both shows have me looking forward to some fresh comedy, especially Community! Joel McHale has great comedic timing, and I’m hoping it really shines in a sitcom. Likewise, I feel like Maura Tierney was never allowed to be funny in ER, so I’d love to see what she can do with what should be a fairly lighter script.

If you’d like a sneak peek of both shows, do I have links for you! To watch a preview of Community you can go to the official site, and to see a little more of Parenthood, feel free to go here and watch the preview!

Harper’s Island Comes To An End

photo- cbs

photo: cbs

As you Harpies know, our final installment of Harper’s Island is on Saturday. I just thought I’d ask you for your input on how you think it will end. Or maybe how you would like to see it end, or even how you hope it doesn’t end. Tell me who you think could be helping our dear friend, Mr. Wakefield.

I, for one, have really enjoyed the show and am kind of sad to see it end. I have gotten to the point I actually enjoyed the snarky remarks from Shane, Cal & Chloe duo and just looking at Henry. I was hoping for a little romance with Abby and Jimmy and more drinking moments with Malcolm.

Leave me your comments and predictions for Saturday….I can’t wait!

Remember… 2 hours long! Yippee

21 Jump Street – Summer DVD Review – Two For The Road

21 Jump Street
Two For The Road

Guest Star: Pauly Shore and Jason Priestley (AGAIN!)
Season 2, Episode 4

Valeria – Senior Reviewer
valeria@thetwocentscorp.com

This episode marks Jason Priestley’s second appearance on 21 Jump Street. Much like his last appearance, he is merely a housefly on the television screen. The same can be said for Pauly Shore, whose character in this episode is reminiscent of the one he played in Encino Man (only the greatest movie of his era). But shore and Priestley are merely players on this stage, the real story centers around a very sad young man, TJ – and his guilt surrounding his best friend’s death that just won’t go away.

Tonight the boys from the Bering Sea are getting their chill on with well below freezing temperatures. We’re at the height of Opilio crab season and the fishing should be great… if the crab can survive the cold, that is.

OK, here comes the cheese. Not only was this a silly and corny episode that revolved around a possessed dummy, they actually have used the character of Sid on the video game and I think again in future comic books of Buffy.

Merlin
Lancelot

Andi – Sr. Reviewer

In this episode, we finally meet everyone’s second favorite personage from Arthurian folklore. Well, maybe not second favorite, but certainly third most popular after Arthur and Merlin, I would wager. And unsurprisingly he looks the part, fights like a champ, and Gwen thinks he’s dreamy. And then he leaves, breaking everyone’s hearts.
