Spaced
Back

Season 2, Episode 1

It’s time to start the second and last season of Spaced with Back, and this is really not one of my favorite episodes, I have to admit. It has its moments, but overall it’s kind of blah. Maybe that’s because it has a parody of The Matrix through the whole thing that just dates it so badly. It’s one thing to parody a movie that’s already a classic, but this is a good lesson in why not to parody anything too recent. Or at least don’t commit it to film if you do.

Battlestar Galactica
Six Degrees of Separation

#3 (Top 10 Happiest Episodes)
Season 1, Episode 7

Brittany – Associate Staff Writer
Brittany@thetwocentscorp.com

The first season of Battlestar Galactica was an intense ride as we learned about why the war was happening, what the cylons wanted, and the relationship between the cylon God and how they felt He dealt his power. Believe and you will be saved, but as Gaius learned in this episode: Scorn and you will be punished. Even though the topic is a bit on the heavy side, there are some definite moments of genuine amusement from James Callis and Tricia Helfer.

A beloved character is dead, space bugs in an Alien Box are really ticked, and Torchwood is all over the place. Welcome to the end of the third season of Torchwood…let’s hope we don’t have to wait a year for the next one.

Farewell…

gidget

gidget

… Gidget the Dog, Commercial Icon

From CNN: “Gidget, the 15-year-old dog best known for her Taco Bell ad campaign, died of a stroke Tuesday in Los Angeles, California, said Sue Chipperton, her trainer. Uttering the words “Yo Quiero Taco Bell,” Gidget, a female dog, played a male dog in the commercials. She was cast as the girlfriend of the Taco Bell Chihuahua, but the director changed his mind at the last minute and made Gidget the lead dog, Chipperton said.

Chipperton worked with Gidget since she was an 8-week old pup and traveled everywhere with the dog. Gidget even opened the New York Stock Exchange. Roles were hard to come by for the pooch after her popularity soared from the Taco Bell ads, according to her trainer.

“She was kind of typecast, so she never really got much work after that,” Chipperton said.

Gidget was cast in the 2003 film, “Legally Blonde 2.” She also had a role as an extra in the 2008 animal-themed movie, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”
