TNT will conclude the fascinating journey of Oklahoma City Police Det. Grace Hanadarko in 2010, when the network’s groundbreaking original series SAVING GRACE will come to an end. SAVING GRACE will wrap up with a nine-episode run planned for next summer. The provocative drama stars Oscar® winner Holly Hunter (The Piano), who this year received the second of two consecutive Emmy® nominations for her no-holds-barred performance. Hunter also serves as executive producer of SAVING GRACE, along with show creator Nancy Miller (Any Day Now), Gary A. Randall (Any Day Now, Leaving L.A.) and Artie Mandelberg (Leaving L.A., Mr. & Mrs. Smith).

“Since SAVING GRACE began in 2007, the series has both challenged and entertained viewers in ways few other shows on television ever dare,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “The show’s continued success is thanks to the amazing talents of Holly Hunter and Nancy Miller, along with a tremendous ensemble cast and a highly skilled production team. They have taken us on a unique journey, and we look forward to seeing where it will ultimately lead.”

Sports Night
The Quality of Mercy at 29K

Season 1, Episode 9

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyw@thetwocentscorp.com

In this episode, the team’s schedule is disrupted by ongoing coverage of an attempt to climb Mount Everest, and Dana’s attempt to spend time with her visiting niece, which only proves to her she is a little bit out of touch with life outside the CSC building. Jeremy tries to engage everyone’s interest in mountain climbing, to no avail. Dan makes one charitable contribution that sees him inundated with requests for others, which makes him question charitable causes and which, if any, should be the most important – until he meets someone who clues him in to what really matters most.

Lewis Black To Guest Star On Big Bang Theory

Multi-talented stand-up comedian, actor and author Lewis Black will guest star this fall in the second episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY, appearing as a brilliant but troubled professor of entomology who works at Caltech with the guys.

Lewis Black will be playing the role of Professor Crawley, a university entomologist whose life is falling apart — his department’s being shut down because of budget cutbacks; his wife left him for someone who studies birds; and he’s moving in with his daughter in Oxnard … not Oxnard on the beach, Oxnard by the onion fields. But, none of that is as aggravating as Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who keeps pestering him to settle a bet with Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) about a cricket — hardly a worthy question for a man with a dung beetle named after him.

The Three Days of the Hunter Job

Original Air Date: August 12, 2009

On this episode of Sabrina, The Teenage Witch…no, I’m kidding. But that’s Beth Broderick (aka one of Sabrina’s crazy aunts, don’t ask me which) and she’s playing a slightly overzealous TV news anchor who’s taking pot shots at a school bus driver for an accident, to the point where he’s tried to kill himself. Great person, huh?

His daughter turns to Nate and Sophie for help, explaining that he has post-traumatic stress and just wants to get her father his life back. Sophie wants to be in charge of the case and everyone kind of goes “What the…” Her idea is to totally destroy Monica Hunter’s (that’s her name) credibility by feeding her a fake story she’ll run with and be humiliated by. Although Nate keeps interrupting her briefing and taking the words out of her mouth. She then exits promptly into the closet.

Who Wants to Be in a Club That Would Have Me as a Member?

Season 1, Episode 10

Nicola – Associate Staff Writer
nicola@thetwocentscorp.com

A truck pulls up, locked in back. It’s rather elaborate. By the time the masked men get it open, we have the distinct impression that they’re about to unleash a caged animal. But no. Just a teenage boy, almost naked and tied to a chair. You know, the usual. They tip the truck bed back and swing him off the edge of the bridge where he dangles by a rope until a double-decker pulls up.

The Aliens Have Landed!: Alien Trespass Hits DVD Today

Chances are, most of us remember the good old, campy, shaky-effects sci-fi movies of the 50’s, either having watched them in our youth or in my case, poking fun at them during late-night episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Whichever camp you fall into, you’ll enjoy Alien Trespass, a fun, good-hearted throwback to 1957 which arrives on DVD today.

A small town is rocked when a spaceship crashes into it, unleashing a strange one-eyed alien known as the Ghota, which likes to eat people and turn them into puddles of goo. Standing in its way is alien peacekeeper Urp, who takes over the body of local astronomer Ted Lewis (wonderfully played by Eric McCormack, here a million miles away from Will & Grace) in his attempt to stop the alien before it can eat the whole town and divide ad infinitum. Urp/Ted has one ally in all this, fiesty diner waitress Tammi (The 4400’s Jenni Baird). Mostly dumbfounded in all this is the local police force (a great group of actors – The Wonder Years’ Dan Lauria, The Unit’s Robert Patrick, and Psych’s Sage Brocklebank), Ted’s wife Lana (Jody Thompson), and all the not-so-innocent teenagers. What ensues is lighthearted fun reminiscent of movies they just don’t make any more.
