What’s worse than having your car break down in the middle of nowhere? Perhaps having it break down in the middle of nowhere with an obsessive-compulsive boss who wasn’t supposed to be with you on the trip in the first place!

Mad Men
Love Among The Ruins

Original Air Date: August 23, 2009

Brittany D. – Staff Writer

Welcome back Mad Men fans – which reminds me: we need a catchy name. That is your homework this week! The best idea wins (internet notoriety!), so send me your best shot at the above e-mail address. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. So, the consensus of the internet is a giant ‘I don’t get it’ regarding this week’s episode. I honestly feel like it was a set up for more important things to come in the later episodes. In fact, I think that’s exactly what it was; details we’ll need to remember to fuel the rest of the season. So let’s get to some of those, shall we?

Psych
High Noon(ish)

Original Air Date: 21 August 2009

Em – TwoCents Reviewer
em@thetwocentscorp.com

This week, Psych invites us to revisit a simpler time, a happier time: the Old West. It seems that both Shawn and Lassiter loved playing cowboy when they were kids. While Shawn has moved onto other adventures as he’s gotten older, Lassiter still cares enough that he’ll stoop to intimidating – er, politely requesting that Shawn and Gus help him with a case in the Wild West recreation town of Old Sonora.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Beer Bad

#1 (Top 10 Worst Episodes)
Season 1, Episode 8

Jenny D – TwoCents Staff Writer
jennyd@thetwocentscorp.com

Beer Bad, no this episode bad. Every time we watch old episodes of Buffy, we skip over this one because we can barely stand it!

After Buffy gets dumped by douche bag Parker, she sulks and imagines saving him and he decided he wants to be with her again. In reality, he is a player who used Buffy. Xander gets a job at the bar on campus and is made a fool of by some jerk college boys when he hits on one of the girls. Colm calls him on the fact that he is just an average guys, and girls like her like smart guys like him. Yeah, what a jerk.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I Robot… You Jane

#2 (Top 10 Worst Episodes)
Season 1, Episode 8

Jenny D – TwoCents Staff Writer jennyd@thetwocentscorp.com

This is an extremely cheesy episode that centers around Willow. Moloch, an ancient demon is put into a book after killing some of his following. Giles is scanning books and putting them onto the computer. In scanning the pages, Willow release Moloch into the computer. Which, I must say is a pretty lame plot.

Dollhouse – Recap & Review – Epitaph one

Dollhouse
Epitaph one

Unaired 13th episode [only available on DVD]

Angelique – Associate Staff Writer
angelique@thetwocentscorp.com

If you are like me and are going to watch season 2 of Dollhouse, then I really recommend you watch this episode as well. Even though FOX decided not to air it, I think you will need to see it if you want to understand season 2. The episode takes place in the distant future, but some of the characters will be in season 2. In what form they will appear, I don’t know… but I am pretty sure this episode is significant. Otherwise, why would Joss Whedon even bother to add it to the DVD box set?

In this episode we will see the future, but every choice the characters make can change what actually happens. It will be interesting to see how far they will go down the path that begins in Epitaph one.

A little known fact about me: I am a trained stage magician. I’ve been into magic since I was a kid, and last year I went to a professional magic academy in Las Vegas. So show me a Leverage preview involving jokes about card tricks, and I’ll automatically squeal.

Jerri’s almost there: she got a D on her paper for Mr. Noblet, and if she can pass her final exam, she’ll become a 46-year-old high school sophomore. That is, unless she gets distracted by a group of underachieving drug-using students.

Desperate Housewives
Premiere Date: September 27
Time: 9:00 PM EST
TwoCents Reviewer: Annette
Starring: Eva Longoria-Parker as Gaby, Marcia Cross as Bree, Terri Hatcher as Susan, Felicity Huffman as Lynette and Dana Delaney as Katherine
Program Description: Welcome to Desperate Housewives, where catfights, seduction and murder are all part of the average day. You have your perfect home, perfect family and perfect neighborhood. But is the suburban fantasy of the white picket fence and cozy cul-de-sac as perfect as it seems?
In our ho-hum neighborhoods, there’s never really anything interesting to look at unless there’s a garage sale next door. In Wisteria Lane, there’s a lot to look at. Or gawk at.
Where We Left Off /What We Expect: Dave is in mental institution after unsuccessfully trying to kill MJ; Lynette is preggers again! With twins! Again!; Carlos’s gold digging, manipulative neice is living with him and Gaby; Bree is still with Orson and maybe has the hots for Karl; Mike is getting married – but who’s the bride? Last season’s five year jump was amazing and made it one of the best seasons yet. I expect nothing but the best from Marc Cherry and the gang.

Brothers & Sisters
Premiere Date: September 27
Time: 10:00 EST
TwoCents Reviewer: OPEN
Starring: Rachel Griffiths as Sarah Whedon, Emily VanCamp as Rebecca Harper, Sally Field as Nora Walker, Calista Flockhart as Kitty Walker, Dave Annable as Justin Walker, Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden, Matthew Rhys as Kevin Walker, and Patricia Wettig as Holly Harper.
Program Description: The compelling one-hour drama series is about a collection of five enmeshed and somewhat damaged adult siblings and their strong but passionately devoted mother, Nora Walker. The Walker’s lives have not been without challenge; romance, parenting, divorce, infidelity, addiction, war and even death have pushed each of them to the limit, but they continue to work toward living their lives as individuals, while loving each other unconditionally and trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy after the loss and lies of their larger-than-life family patriarch, William Walker.
Where We Left Off: Tommy ran off to Mexico, and after the family went to get him back, he decided to stay where he was. Robert & Kitty decided to take a break, Justin proposed to Rebecca, but like everything in that relationship it didn’t really work out, and Saul revealed that he was the one who went to Ryan’s mother and broke off her and William’s relationship.

Keen Eddie
Citizen Cecil

Season 1, Episode 11

Nicola – Associate Staff Reviewer
nicola@thetwocentscorp.com

Cecil’s here. This can’t be a good thing. Cecil is an evil-looking strawberry blonde with a tattoo above his eyebrow. He just got out of prison and he’s looking to do a bit of gambling, looks like. He comes to the casino and is greeted by the casino manager, who thanks him for keeping his mouth shut in prison for three years, which allowed the business to thrive. He gives Cecil a wad of cash and a couple of tickets to a football game. Things are looking up for Cecil.

And that, of course, is when all hell breaks loose.
