FOX and MySpace are inviting aspiring singers, performers and GLEEks nationwide to enter the “GLEE MySpace Karaoke Contest.” Starting today at 3:00 PM PT, fans 14 years of age and older are encouraged to follow in RACHEL BERRY’s footsteps by recording their own interpretations of featured songs from GLEE, including Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and Kanye West’s “Gold Digger,” and posting their videos online at karaoke.myspace.com. The competition ends Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges, and a grand prize winner will be announced on or about Wednesday, Oct. 21. Winners will be selected on the basis of singing ability, entertainment value and appeal. In addition to the grand prize of a trip to Hollywood to visit the set of GLEE, exclusive GLEE merchandise and iTunes Gift Cards will be awarded to runners-up. For complete contest rules, visit karaoke.myspace.com.

OC’s Peter Gallagher Signs On With USA

gallagher

gallagher

From The Hollywood Reporter: “Peter Gallagher has been tapped to co-star on USA Network’s pilot “Covert Affairs.”

The show centers on Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), a multilingual CIA trainee who joins the agency while reeling over a mysterious ex-boyfriend who appears to be of particular interest to her bosses.

Gallagher will play CIA director Arthur Campbell, a regal man and former Naval officer who loves a good fight, great scotch and a filthy joke.”

USA has some great programming such as Monk, Psych and Burn Notice – do you watch USA at all? Do you feel it can compete with cable networks such as TNT, TBS and AMC?

Sons of Anarchy
“Albification”

One simple rule for a second season, and so few shows seem to follow it…Raise the Stakes.

The second season of Sons of Anarchy does just that, opening with a loud, aggressive punch. The gang shoots target practice, with an amped-up version of The Who’s “Slip Kid” underneath. There’s the standard montage of character introductions, but nothing to take the focus away from that initial energy. Another nice contrast to the opening episode of season one, where Jax was driving alone at night and the music was a little more bluesy.

Are you ready for Wednesday’s premiere of Glee? Here are some great tidbits Patricia got from the Glee Panel at the 2009 Comic-Con!

Beware, there may be a bit of spoiler-ish type stuff inside.

My Reaction
While watching the second episode of Glee, “Showmance,” I laughed so hard I almost lost my bladder function. I had no idea from the pilot that the series would be sexually suggestive, from a line about gag reflex to a very provocative dance number set to Salt-n-Pepa’s “Push It.” My, my, my.

I really would have hated to judge this week’s episode of Design Star. Each of the three remaining designers did an excellent job — so much so that it came down to the tiniest of details to determine who would go on and who would get the boot.

Well, well, well my little ad execs, you know what they say: Time flies when you’re having fun. More than one person has already exclaimed that the episode went by too fast, and I agree. With so much centering around Gene, and with the previews from last week, I predicted that Mr. Hofstadt would not be with us much longer. Was I right? Can I predict the future? (Or…past as it were.) Let’s see, shall we?

Nathanial Archibald Chace Crawford has the makings of a male model, in terms of how a “male model” is defined by Derek Zoolander. Crawford appears in the latest issue of Wonderland Magazine in a very high fashion photospread that shows off looks that would rival Blue Steel.

TwoCents Exclusives From Comic Con – Fringe Panel

The Comic Con train keeps rolling here at TheTwoCents.com! Here’s a report from the Fringe panel held in San Diego earlier this summer!

Patricia Morris Buckley – Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

What’s in store for Peter?
“For the first time in his life he has a sense of purpose,” said Josh Jackson (Peter). “He knows a war is coming and he’s on the front lines. He wants to protect his family. He’s becoming a man. He will be fumbling through S2 trying to figure out a piece of information that he doesn’t know he needs.” Probably that he’s dead in our reality and stolen from the alternative reality?

Leverage
The Ice Man Job

Original Air Date: September 2, 2009

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyw@thetwocentscorp.com

An armored car full of diamonds is being hijacked in a scene that looks more like it belongs in an episode of 24. This leads to the wounded driver telling the whole sob story to Nate, after being framed for the job himself.

Nate’s faltering a bit because Sophie isn’t around. (In reality, Gina Bellman is on maternity leave.) As in, he’s ordered her a drink knowing she’s not there. Parker is weirded out because she’s not in her usual spot on the couch during the briefing, in which Hardison explains the insurance policy may look attractive to the company’s chief, who needs the money to keep himself afloat.
