When last we saw our heroes, Castle had done the one thing Beckett had asked him not to: snoop around the murder case of her mother. Well, some time had passed. Castle’s first “Nikki Heat” novel (Heat Wave) is out, and Beckett isn’t speaking to him. When a body turns up in a tree, however, she agrees (at the chief’s instance) to let him help one last time.

Oh, the carefree days of freshman year of college. This episode made me oddly nostalgic for my undergraduate years. I probably would have enjoyed college more with parties with free sushi and martinis and attractive literary hipsters like Dan Humphrey.
But then again, if real life was like television, then no one would watch TV would they?

Welcome back! If you’ll recall, House has checked himself into Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital to get clean of the Vicodin that’s causing him to hallucinate. I’m going to apologize for the ridiculous length of this review but there isn’t much that isn’t important so I think we need to cover it all.
House is in a solitary room in a hospital bed with an IV, detoxing and in a lot of pain. He starts yelling and pounding on the door for help and then he’s restrained to the bed. After the credits, House says he’s all detoxed and hallucination-free and now he’d like to go, kthxbai. Dr. Nolan, his psychiatrist, won’t check him out because he thinks that House has bigger problems than Vicodin. They put House in Ward 6 with Dr. Beasley. She tells him that he’ll be out of there if he cooperates and takes his meds. He assures her that won’t happen and that his plan of action is to turn the ward upside down until they’ve had enough and kick him out.

Okay, so here’s the thing. I try very hard to tell the truth about how I really feel in my recaps because I feel like I owe it to you guys. But at the same time, I try to avoid the ‘well if you don’t like it, don’t recap it!’ comments. The problem is, you never know with a pilot, and I think it takes a couple of episodes for shows to find their footing. So, take me with a grain of salt when I say this show has been done in one way or another every year since Friends ended. Let’s recap though, and you can judge for yourself.

Some people were left thinking it was a little lack luster last season, but there have been many promises from Tim Kring and the actors themselves that things would be different starting this season. Well, let me start off by saying “WELCOME BACK”! It’s been a long, long wait for the premiere of How I Met Your Mother, but it was totally worth the wait! After the MANY Neil Patrick Harris appearances this past week and a half due to the Emmy’s, and the premiere of the show, we finally got to see what happened with Barney and Robin. We also got to see Lily back in all her glory; and we got to see Ted’s new job as a Professor of Architecture. I’m so excited to start with my review for you all! So, let’s get to it.

Over on CBS, poor Kevin Dillon didn’t win the Emmy. Who are these Mad Men people? I don’t get it. Why doesn’t Entourage get more nominations and wins? Marky Mark, I mean Mr. Mark Wahlberg, gave a great interview on the Red Carpet about the show and how wonderful it is. I completely agree.
