Well, Family Guy is at least spicing up its intro with some pretty hilarious introductions. This one has the Griffin family as superheroes from our past. And, of course, Meg is normal Meg. Hahaha.

Mad Men

Original Air Date: Oct 4, 2009

Brittany D. – Staff Writer
brittany@thetwocentscorp.com

A show like Mad Men doesn’t make me think that I’ll have much to gasp out loud about, but I did tonight! While nothing ground breaking happened (roaming spouses, work talk, etc.) there were moments that did genuinely make me wonder just what in the heck was going on.

Dollhouse

Original Air Date: Oct 2, 2009

Angelique –  Associate Staff Writer

The first thing we see is Paul Ballard who is taking a stroll around the Dollhouse, he finds the ´chair room´ unoccupied and no one is around. He ventures into the room and walks around the chair contemplating, thinking about what they do at the Dollhouse, no doubt. He takes a seat in the chair, probably trying to imagine what it will be like to be wiped clean and being imprinted with a new character on a daily base when Topher comes around the corner. Living each and every life possible except your own.

Ned starts his transition into a normal college student/paranormal research nerd with a make out scene with a co-ed, Brianna, in her dorm room. Brianna gets up to go to her closet, and finds her doll hung by a noose with what appears to be bloody X’s drawn over its eyes and all over the closet. She screams, causing Ned to come in to see what’s wrong, and a mirror cracks with X’s where the reflection of her eyes are.

Ugly Betty Changes Premiere Date

photo: abc

photo: abc

Ugly Betty has rescheduled its premiere date for Oct. 16 instead of Oct. 9. I am pretty mad. It is bad enough we have had to wait longer than most of the shows this season, and now this! I have no idea as to why they felt the need to move the season 4 premiere but whatever it is… I am not to happy! And I am sure all of us Betty fans can agree that the move to Fridays was one thing… but now this?

I, for one, can’t wait to see the changes they have made to Betty. Her clothes and hair are going to be some of the little changes we will see in the premiere. So mark you calendars, again, for October 16 at 8:00. See you then.

Stargate: Universe
Air, Parts 1 and 2

Original Air Date: Oct 2, 2009

Em – TwoCents Reviewer
em@thetwocentscorp.com

A ship travels silently through the void of space, its corridors empty and lifeless until the onboard Stargate is activated. A soldier comes tumbling out of the wormhole, closely followed by waves of people, some of them wounded, all of them scared and confused, and chaos ensues as the newest addition to the Stargate franchise begins with a bang.

Our first soldier, Scott, radios back through the Gate to slow down the evacuation but gets no response. A sinister long-haired guy surveys the scene with a very creepy smile. The wormhole collapse and a severely injured colonel puts Scott in charge. Scott asks where they are, and Eli says that Rush knows. Reality shifts in an alarmingly Technicolor way.

It’s never good when the CSI’s are pulling…pieces…of a dead body out of the water. However, one seems to be having a particularly bad time of it, because she’s upset over it, and then ends up dead on her kitchen floor a few days later. This is our brief introduction to Daisy Chao, this week’s Official Dead Body.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Great Recession

Original Air Date: Oct 1, 2009

Tom R. – Sr. Staff Writer
tom@thetwocents.com

Ok…Let’s say there’s this show, and let’s say an episode is sponsored by, say, Coors beer and Dave and Buster’s restaurants. Now let’s say that these sponsors become part of the plot. Are we saying that this is a warning sign for this particular show? Normally I’d sat yes, but the Coors tie-in is one of the funniest jokes this season, if not the show’s history. As for Dave and Buster’s, they become a metaphor to comment on economic stimulation.

Whew! That’s a lot of syllables.

First off, lets address the really important stuff. Over the weekend, Samoa was hit by not one but two tsunamis caused by earthquakes on the ocean floor. CBS has teamed up with the American Red Cross to help in the relief effort. You can visit CBS.com or the official Survivor site, or call 1-88-RED-CROSS, to donate.

Now, on to the shenanigans of Galu and Foa Foa…
