The camera is sitting on the floor and we hear Pam and Brian talking about the incident from the other night. Apparently, he got in trouble for coming to Pam’s rescue since the rule is that the crew isn’t to talk to the documentary subjects. Meredith asks “Boom Guy” when he’s gonna boom her. He skedaddles and who could blame him?

David Wallace gave permission for Dwight to hire a Junior Salesman to fill Jim’s space while he’s in Philly. Clark tells Dwight he’s should get the job. Dwight doesn’t agree but grants Clark an interview anyway. The other candidates are all Dwight’s weird friends. During all these, we find out that Dwight used to go to X-Men school and he also dated his elderly babysitter for awhile.

Shut it down, nerds.

Time to pack up our night cheese and Sabor de Soledad because the 30 Rock train has left the station for the last time. It’s bittersweet, but you can take solace in the fact that this series finale may very well be regarded as a gold standard for all future finales. Yep, it’s that good!

Liz has taken on a new role in her life -mommy- yet she’s itching to get back to work while Criss acts as a receptionist in a dentist office. She goes to ask Jack for advice, but he’s too busy trying to find happiness. While Jenna is desperate to stay in the spotlight, Tracy has a hard time dealing with Kenneth as the new president of NBC.

Can Liz truly have it all? What will the writers order for their last lunch ever? Is Kenneth an angel, immortal, or what? Find out after the jump!

Daddy issues are not uncommon. It’s how you handle it during your adulthood that shows your strength/character. My dad used to squeeze my arms to see how fat I’m getting – well, the joke’s on him: I’m a growing woman and his hands aren’t big enough. That’s right, brush it off – it’s what parents do: they get under your skin. My arms will never be twigs, I am better than my arms – I have more to give to the world (like an awesome recap containing some insightful semi-psychoanalysis of my childhood). I realize I’m stronger because of my childhood. What I’m saying is: Rachel, stop whining and being a drama queen – suck it up.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Oklahoma City Auditions

American Idol
Oklahoma City Auditions

Here we are at the very last audition of 2013. After three weeks, I’m thankful it’s only an hour. At this point, audition fatigue has really set in.

I was surprised at how many mercy Golden Tickets the judges gave out. Several of the contestants had more personality than talent and that seems to be why the judges sent them through. That doesn’t help anyone. The contestants get their hopes up and then we barely see them again.

American Idol
San Antonio/Long Beach Auditions

Original Air Date: Jan 30, 2013

pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

We’ve made it to the final week of auditions. Are you relieved or sad? This episode took us to two different areas of the country. The San Antonio auditions were held at the Alamo (really, is there really any other place in San Antonio? Well, yes…). The Long Beach auditions went nautical with the Queen Mary.

Luckily, it was one of the episodes where 90 percent of the contestants were good. In fact, I’m starting to worry there may be too many good people (don’t worry, I won’t feel that way after Hollywood Week).

Top Chef – Recap & Review – Chefs at Sea

Chefs at Sea

Original Air Date: Jan 30, 2013

Ryan O – Associate Staff Writer
ryano@thetwocentscorp.com

Competition heads out to sea as the show puts the cheftestants on a cruise to Alaska. The final five chefs have to cook onboard a cruise ship for the Quickfire and Elimination challenges.

I never understand why the show changes venues for the last few episodes but at least in this case, the change makes some sense. Cruising from Seattle to Alaska is a dream vacation for a lot of people. I just hope that in changing locations no one will have to cook on a ski lift, chop their food out of an ice block or ski and shoot.

Thea shows up for court and is lucky enough to find the one judge on earth that is willing to make an example out of her by throwing the book at her. He wants to show the community that they are not putting up with this plague that is taking over Gotham…I mean the city.

Law & Order: SVU
Criminal Hatred

Original Air Date: Jan 30, 2013

Caitlin – Senior Staff Writer
caitlin@thetwocentscorp.com

On any crime show, watching the absurd excuses defense attorneys use can be frustrating. If you’ve ever wanted our guys to let lose too and, like, try to prosecute a gay man for hate crimes against gay men or something, you’ll like tonight’s episode.

The detectives go undercover to catch a suspect molesting men at a gay bar. Since it’s the very start of the episode, they miss him completely, and he goes on to attack a married man who has just left his wife and children for the night.

Chicago Fire Adds Rescue Dog as Series Regular

photo: nbc

photo: nbc

If the dog is truly man’s best friend, then a firehouse dog must be a firefighter’s comrade in arms, as viewers of NBC’s “Chicago Fire” will see in tonight’s (Wednesday, January 30) episode that introduces new series regular “Pouch” — a precocious rescue puppy adopted by Firehouse 51 as well as embraced by the show’s cast and crew.

Pouch acquired her moniker (also her real name) owing to her being “half pooch and half couch,” per Derek Haas, one of the hit drama series’ executive producers and co-creator. In Wednesday’s episode, firefighter Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett, one of the series’ stars) discovers a wayward mutt and wants to keep him in the firehouse, but is overruled by no-nonsense Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Mouch (Christian Stolte). Over time, the irresistible Pouch eventually is named and claimed by the entire fire-and-rescue team.
