A Gleeful National Anthem

A hit TV series. A CD. A possible tour. What could be better? Singing at the world series of course!

FOX has confirmed the cast will sing the National Anthem at the third game of the World Series, scheduled for October 31st. Depending on which teams win the divisional series, the game will take place either in LA or Philadelphia.

This is great news considering NBC recently pulled the plug on the Glee kids singing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. With all of this publicity and higher ratings with each episode, maybe they should reconsider!

Well my friends, Betty is back and it is a 2 hour special and there is a lot to cover. Betty and Justin start the day in a very rough manner and the day is not a good one for either of them. Matt ends up being a real prick throughout the show and Marc is a bit bitter over Betty getting the editor job. Shall we get started?

Psych
Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark

Original Air Date: Oct 16, 2009

It’s that time of the year again: the mid-season finale of Psych, which means no more episodes until next year. I’m always bummed when this show goes on hiatus, so Henry’s opening flashback lesson about surviving worst case scenarios seems rather appropriate. Of course, what he has in mind is a lot worse than just going a few months without a TV show. Like, say, being bound with duct tape and locked in the trunk of a car…which is exactly what happens to Shawn.

Gus calls Lassiter and Juliet down to a storage yard in the wee small hours of the morning because he got a call from Shawn saying that the “whole thing was just a rehearsal.” What he meant by that is unclear, and he isn’t around to explain.

Friday Night Lights – Pre-Game Show

Photo:NBC

Once upon a time, Peter Berg adapted a movie that was adapted from a book adapted from the lives of some football-loving, crazy southern people. He added great cinematography and hoppin’ music and quality writing and brilliant acting and Tim Riggins and made a big ole pot of fabulous football-madness gumbo. And since I’m recently taking over and the season premiers on October 23rd, I figure we need a quick and dirty replay of the last quarter before the fourth quarter gets up and running. So here we go…

Stargate: Universe
Darkness

This week’s episode of Stargate: Universe starts with Rush working at a console and looking angry about something. Not an unusual sight, except that he looks sick. He storms off to yell at some people for turning on systems that he turned off. They tell him that Young ordered them to investigate.

Young is having a meeting to discuss the water situation. The water supply is still being rationed, which means no one has taken a shower. A bunch of unwashed people eating bad food and talking about spaceships – it’s like Comic Con all over again! Eli discovered a shower onboard that doesn’t use water and might be worth checking out. Rush enters, and Young breaks up the meeting. Rush is mad at him for ordering people to start up various systems on board, because the power reserves are very low.

Tonight’s episode starts with a janitor spilling blood all over a sign that brags of no accidents for 310 days. Unfortunately it happens to be his own blood that stains it. But who was that guy who pushed him into the Compacter?

Ever feel like the people you work with are total demons and that your boss is the king of the monsters? Well, some poor Dilbert in Seattle thought the same thing. So he went up to his boss and killed him with a briefcase, like you do. Anyone have the number for Fringe Division?

OK, I’m late with this R&R. It’s been almost a week, and I still can’t figure out what Charlie was talking about. The scene where Mac and Dennis try to set up his Match.com profile has got to be one of the funniest scenes this season. Dee getting busted by the shopgirl is another highlight. But I’m getting ahead of myself…

In the open, Michael has a meeting on the fundamentals of business. He says what he knows about business could fill a book. Ryan challenges him to write one. Michael has writers block, because, well, he actually doesn’t know all that much about business. I know, I’m as surprised as you are.

As the title implies it’s time for Seattle Grace to be invaded by the people from Mercy West as per the merger. I am sure this will bring lots of fun drama for the Grey’s crew. Tonight I’ll be watching with my best buddy Ken whose comments I will add in addition to my own. He’s probably funnier than I am.
