Welcome back, readers. It was an odd format last week so apologies for that. Let’s see if we can get back in the swing of things this week with some normal formatting and some classic Grey’s drama!

Ugly Betty

In this weeks episode Marc is assigned to be Betty’s temporary assistant while she works on a story about New York’s worst jobs. Hilda becomes a potential political liability to Archie’s campaign. I guess this was a perfect episode to air at Halloween because of the costumes and all, but wasn’t quite the same as season 1’s Halloween episode and costumes.

The Mentalist – Recap & Review – Red Scare

It is Halloween on The Mentalist, and you can just bet that they are going to do right — but of course, a ghost is not just a ghost on this show. The dead body that starts their case is dead, outside of a locked house. It is quite a puzzle, which naturally piques Jane’s interest, who sees he has something in his hand — a brass button, with the letter B. When Deputy Fisher appears nervous and Jane makes note, Fisher says that the original owner of the house’s name is Beckworth, and he is rumored to haunt the house. Spooky!

Michael hosts a haunted house in the warehouse. It’s lame until Michael pretends to hang himself and then goes on to tell them that suicide isn’t the answer.

Angela is dressed as a black widow, Ryan is Edward Cullen, Creed is a vampire, and Jim is Facebook, which means he has the word book written across his face. That’s just as lame as Three Hole Punch Jim, in my opinion.

It’s what we’ve been waiting for since the first episode of the season: Violet will confront Katie. Or will she? If she does, will it let her be a mother and a girlfriend? Oh, the thought of going into that courtroom … chilling.

Each week seems to be getting funnier and funnier, and that’s saying a lot. This week, special guest “Rowdy” Roddy Piper plays off Mickey Rourke’s character in The Wrestler. As “Da Maniac”, Piper mimics Rourke’s low-key delivery as the gang attempts to get their share of glory in the ring. Needless to say, it all goes wonderfully haywire.

The League
Series Premiere

Original Air Date: Oct 29, 2009

Tom R. – Sr. Staff Writer
tom@thetwocents.com

While FX has gained a reputation for bold, daring dramas, the achilles’ heel has been developing good comedy shows. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been the only exception, but the network has struggled to find a suitable companion piece to fill the remainder of the hour. With its debut episode, The League just might be the show they have been looking for.
