Dear TV Claus

Dear TV Claus,

I’ve been a very good girl this year (by which I mean I have watched a LOT of television), so I have a few requests…

1. Give Bryan Fuller a show that makes it to the third season.

2. Bring Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson back to House. 13 and Taub deserved better than to get kicked off the way they did.

3. Let the rumors about one of the actors leaving Criminal Minds turn out to be horrible, horrible lies – that show’s already lost too many good people.

Fringe – Recap & Review – Grey Matters

We open in a Boston loony bin with Mr. Decapitation (remember him?) performing open-skull surgery. It’s all kind of gross – especially when he pulls something hidden out of the man’s brain matter. And here’s the weird thing (as if nothing has been weird thus far): after the removal of the foreign object, the patient regains his sanity. I know… crazy.

The team is attending an event of Doverton and Co family jewelers., so they are all attempting to make nice which is just kind of funny; then we hear Jane is going to be doing some entertaining. Frankly this makes me wonder about the sanity of all involved — what are they, new? — but it turns out he just does a little magic trick and “transforms [their] consciousness.” He plays them like a fiddle, and meanwhile there was a heist going on in the vault, and Aunt Esther’s husband Carl was shot in the ensuing brouhaha. Awesome.

It’s that time of year, and we get to enjoy our holiday episode. Oh goody! No big mistletoe kisses like I wished, but a good episode, anyways. Santa is robbing a bank and ends up blowing himself up and his remains are splattered all over the place, including Booth. Max wants to spend Christmas with Tempy (how did he get out of jail, again?) and some family, in which he finds her cousin Margaret (Zooey Deschanel). He tells her that nobody wants to spend Christmas alone, because it means nobody loves them.

I’ve been very good this year. Especially to you. Not as good as I should be to Homework Claus, but don’t worry, our relationship is still strong. Anyway, I’m sending out my Christmas list early, so if you’re feeling up to granting any of these, you can work it out with TPPB.

1. A better timeslot for Ugly Betty. I don’t know if that’ll do anything, but it at least deserves a chance.

2. More viewers for The New Adventures of Old Christine. Also, more interviews for the supporting cast. Julia’s fantastic, but she gets like three TV interviews a season. Wanda gets maybe one of the season, but everyone else is lucky to have had one in all five seasons.

It’s the holidays at TGS, and Liz decides to get Jenna the perfect gift: a jigsaw puzzle of her nipple slip. Jack and Liz decide to exchange gifts, but Liz hasn’t considered Jack’s need to constantly best everyone, and Jonathan warns her that she will never be able to top him. Especially not with a coffee mug full of bath salts.

It’s time for the annual office Christmas party! There’s the unveiling of the undecorated artificial tree. Everyone is not impressed. Also, when did Jim get so lame? Oh that’s right, he teamed up with Dwight. Yeah, he has that effect on people.

So…After six episodes, it comes down to the perennial winner against the hapless loser…Pete vs. Andre.

When Andre admits to his relationship with the real life Shiva, the guys see that he has an edge. When Andre says they are both doctors, Pete sees an opening. Since Shiva is a urologist, he decides to fake an illness and get examined. He feels that this having her touch both of them will even the playing field. While Andre is skeptical, he is also jealous, and attacks Pete in the examining room.
