Dear TV Claus,

You’ve sure already given me a lot this year (guess you don’t get any time off, do you?) but ’tis the season and all that, so I’m going to ask you to stretch your holiday good cheer just a little further.

1a) Get Holly to come back to The Office. Because we all know there is no one better for Michael than Holly.
1b) Give Andy a shot with Erin. Because she’s so cute and despite his obnoxiousness, he’s got a heart of gold.
1c) Dwight and Angela. C’MON.
1d) Also, can you make Pam less of a bitch and Jim less of a dad? I know they’re “growing up” or whatever, but I miss them being lighthearted.

2a) Please give Supernatural a reason to continue onto a 6th season. I don’t want it to go on if it’s just going to go downhill, but my faith in Kripke knows no bounds.
2b) Also, no more warring boys. They need to be nice to each other because no one else will be. So if you could not make Sam Lucifer and Dean Michael, that would be awesome.
2c) Don’t kill Bobby or Castiel or Chuck. Everyone else is fair game.

So You Think You Can Dance
Top 6 Perform

Original Air Date: Dec 15, 2009

It’s SYTYCD finale week and I’m horribly disappointed to realize that since there are 6 dancers left, we are getting three boy/girl dances each instead of some same sex dances. Some of my favorite dances ever on this show have been boy/boy or girl/girl. Oh well, we’re jumping straight in tonight.

The Good Wife – Recap & Review – Lifeguard

What I like best about this show is how it brings out the grays in the legal system.

Case in point: The sentencing pattern of one Judge Baxter. Alicia brings a simple case in front of him. She’s representing the son of a big client’s housekeeper who lost his temper in school and hit another kid with a book. Now, the book did some serious damage, but it’s obvious this isn’t a criminal action.

Christian: “This is painless and justified.”
Sean: “You trying to convince me or yourself?”

While you can’t call this a “very special episode” of Nip/Tuck, it’s clearly the most political stance the show has taken.

The Sing Off – Recap & Review – Night One

The Sing Off
Night One

As we all know, thanks to the amazing success of Glee, singing groups are taking over everything. With Glee being on hiatus, granted only for a week, I didn’t know what I was going to do. But then I turned on NBC’s The Sing Off and found myself laughing, crying and singing along – just like I do with Glee. The differences? There is no pre- or post-production dubbing, the groups are competing for $100,000 and a recording contract, they vary in age from college freshman to middle-age soccer moms, and they only get one chance to do it right. Did I mention it was an a cappella competition? That means no band. All music and singing are done by the groups voices. With host Nick Lachey uncomfortably looking at me through the television screen, I sat down for the two-hour show not knowing what to expect.

Oh, Big Bang Theory. You had me at “weltschmerz”.

No, seriously, that’s actually my favorite word ever. Weltschmerz is a term for the sadness one feels because of the difference between what is and what ought to be. In this case, Sheldon uses it to describe Leonard’s feeling about his relationship with his mother – and if you thought her last visit was bad, wait until you get a load of this one.

I have a confession to make. I already watched this episode. Twice. That’s right. The show has grown on me so much that I am beginning to watch it multiple times because I like it that much. This episode finally drew me in as a fan instead of just someone who watches it. I won’t give anything away, but I’ll just say that I want my own Captain Hanukkah!

Right now, all the hype around this show is getting us geared up for the 100th episode. So really, I wasn’t all pumped up when I read the info summary for this episode. I just want to hear Neal Patrick Harris sing, get a glimpse of the mother (who will reportedly finally be seen) and see what other shenanigans they pull out of their awesome HIMYM hat. But for now, I will settle for smoking on the apartment building roof.

Dear TV Claus

Dear TV Claus,

I don’t ask for much, and therefore you should grant requests from me before all those other greedy people. I’m just saying.

1a. Please make the powers that be at Criminal Minds give Hotch his kid back. And his life. And stop torturing him for a while. Leave the poor man alone!

1b. Speaking of Criminal Minds, can you make sure Holly Harold never writes another episode? …Oh! And get rid of that horrible love interest Morgan has, for the love of all things good.

2. Can you convince Adult Swim not to edit the life out of The Mighty Boosh? We can live without commercials for a half hour so we can appreciate the real beauty of the show. I promise. Capitalism will survive it.
