Hi, guys! It’s been a while. But just in time for the show’s holiday hiatus to end, my own TwoCents hiatus is ending. Did you miss me? I hope my absence wasn’t too traumatic for you.

So! Here’s the run down of what’s happened this season while I was gone: Hotch and Foyet (AKA The Reaper) played Operation. Hotch lost. In a real-life-affecting-screen-life twist, Reid was shot in the leg and gimpified (though he’s all better now!). Morgan got to play boss and got his own shiny office as Hotch fell apart. Haley got her first redeeming moment since the implication that she cheated on Hotch, making a lot of us like her again just before she went six feet under. Hotch beat Foyet to death like a crazed caveman to save his son, and surprisingly, the wicked witch of the west–er, I mean Strauss–had a moment of redemption when she didn’t come down on Hotch for it.

“If you’ve learned anything today, it won’t be the truth.”

Archer flips the bird to more of the James Bond mythology in an episode that features bizarre spy training, defective gadgets, and a loudmouth, not-so-secret agent.

Picture James Bond. Now take away the spying, the chases, and anything else that requires effort, and you’ll have a pretty fair picture of secret agent Sterling Archer.

Eric McCormack returns as Max in this week’s episode. It’s been 2 months since we’ve seen him, so if you’re keeping score- first she thought he wanted a date, then he thought she did, then he was just her therapist, and then they weren’t together but really were. Ready? Okay.

My Two Cents – What Happens To Our Shows When Tomorrow Comes?

photo: nbc

With all the show cancellations coming up this year (and a few scheduled for next year already—RIP Rescue Me and rumors of Entourage), I began thinking about what television has come to in the last few years.

When the staff here at thetwocents was asked to put together their top shows of the decade as the end of the year approached, my list consisted of Will & Grace, Friends, and Beverly Hills 90210. It was quite sad that people had to look up to see if those shows even aired in the 2000s. They did.

Christian and Sean take on separate clients, each with different beauty goals. By the end of this episode, the rift between them grows deeper.

Have you spent the last two nights in a marathon of American Idol viewing? Yes, it’s back and we’re enjoying that first blush of viewing before the endless wackos start to get to us!

I loved the opening on Tuesday, which kicked off with a recap of last season and its winners. I especially liked how the monologue said “a new star is born” over the image of Adam Lambert, not S8 winner Kris Allen. Oh yeah! ‘Nuff said.

We open with Last Rights being given to a teenage girl as her mother looks on. the unhook the machines and the girl slips out of this life. A medical team transports her to the OR for organ harvest. It’s a very poignant, quiet scene… that is until the girl wakes up as the lead surgeon is removing her kidneys and starts screaming something in a military security code.
