There’s a statute of limitations on sexual offences, so cold cases don’t often come up in the SVU. When they do, though, the show makes sure there’s enough drama involved to make them worth being brought up again after all these years.

We see two familiar faces in the first couple minutes of this episode. First, Munch, whose absence for long stretches of time is actually acknowledged, and then our old friend Dana Lewis of the FBI, there to take in a suspect just released from prison in Miami.

Fans versus Favorites! Well, you know, it’s more like “Favorites.” Even I don’t really remember some of the returning players. On the other hand, I do remember some people that really annoyed me — Brandon Hantz and Phillip. I also remember some players that I really liked — Eric, Malcolm from just last season, Cochran and Dawn. I liked all of them quite a bit.

In this extra-long first episode, we run through the usual stuff, except there’s a lot more strategizing in the Favs side than there would be normally. Some players are cut out of an early alliance. Over on the Fans side, players are making rookie mistakes left and right and quickly enough, there are people I like and dislike on the tribe of newbies. Good times all around!

Welcome to week six of Justified. Last week we finally managed to get some information about what has been going on in the last few episodes with Boyd and Johnny as well as what has been going on with Raylan. There is still a lot of things that are going to need to be explained but we have a chance now to make more sense of everything.

We finally saw Winona for the first time this season, looking fairly pregnant at this point. She and Raylan are in the doctors office but she is still very distant from him and doesn’t seem to actually want him around. Boyd really doesn’t have anyone that he can trust anymore. Lets see what happens this week.

This hour felt like it had a one speed… breakneck. I can’t recall the last time an hour of television flew by so quickly. And accomplished so much. And set up so much.

To keep track, you almost need a scorecard. I counted four confessions from three people, two major betrayals, one minor betrayal, one minor (kind of) lie, and one shirtless scene. I’m going on record requesting more of the latter please!

To be practical or not to be practical, that is the question. Booth and Bones argue over just such a thing which in turn sets the pace of the episode and how it will play out. After a few heated words, Bones storms out of the house and heads to work on the latest bones. You know this episode is going to be different when it starts out with the bones already at the Jeffersonian.

While working, someone shoots her with a quiet sounding gun, and leaves her bleeding on the floor. Of all people, Booth finds her lying on the floor, when he arrives with Christine because he feels bad about the argument.

Back in the first season, we dealt with the Kennish family acclimating to Daphne being deaf. Cochlear implants and signing were addressed. Then everyone learned sign language, to differing degrees, and seemingly became one big happy family.

But this show is more than your typical ABC Family teen-angst melodrama. Steeped in the relationship and baby dramas is a real education and platform for helping the hearing world to learn more about the deaf community from several vantage points. And it’s doing a spectacular job.

You’ll remember Janette from last week’s episode. You might also wonder why Ted would want to keep dating her, from what we saw then. By the end of this week’s episode, though…you’ll really wonder why.

Actually, he agrees pretty quickly on that he needs to break up with her. He manages to do it, too, even though it puts him in fear of his life. But, as you might guess, it’s not as simple as just telling her. That becomes clear when she locks herself in his room.
