The Windy City did not fare well with American Idol judges. With a record 12,000 people vying for a Golden Ticket, only 13 got one. That’s just a touch over .001 percent! No wonder this is only the third time in AI history that auditions have been held there.

Operation Awesome starts in right where the last episode ended. Awesome has been kidnapped by The Ring. It seems Ring agent Sydney Prince (Angie Harmon) has the wrong guy. She thinks Awesome (should I just start calling him Devon now that he’s become integrated into Chuck’s spy life?) is the super secret government agent. She’s trying to recruit him for the Ring.

The underlying mystery of Castle has always been the murder of Detective Kate Beckett’s mother. Beckett has tried to put it behind her, but the unanswered questions often lingered around her. How would she deal with possible resolution, being as close to the answers as she’s ever been? Continue reading

While Sheldon is out lamenting the revamped menu and pondering the implications of “shrimp with mobster sauce” with the gang at the Chinese restaurant, the boys’ apartment is robbed. Thank god, they DID leave the comic books.

My Two Cents – MTV’s The Buried Life

photo: theburiedlife.com

Last night, MTV aired their new show The Buried Life. It’s a mix between Pay It Forward, The Bucket List and any MTV reality show. It’s the story of four friends—Ben, Duncan, Jonnie and Dave—who made a list of the 100 things they want to do before they die (a la The Bucket List) and along the way, for each task they complete, they do something good for someone else or help them do something they want to do (Pay It Forward). But it’s also an MTV show, so there’s funny moments (like their home-made bus breaking down in the first 5 minutes of the show or getting a really bad tan in a tanning booth).

Glee Gets Huge Guest Director And Guest Star

photo: entertainment weekly

So your hit show just won a Golden Globe for Best Comedy and the biggest news on the street is that you’re on set recording your Madonna episode, right?

WRONG.

Yesterday it was confirmed that Jennifer Lopez will be coming to guest star as a cafeteria worker but that was soon old news when the story broke that none other than our favorite How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris, will be guest-starring in May. Not only that, he will be under the direction of Joss Whedon (who finally will be making his guest directing debut we’ve been waiting for) and teaming with Zachary Woodlee, who was the dancing brains behind Barney’s “Suits” song-and-dance number in HIMYM‘s recent 100th episode.

Madonna’s catalog. J-Lo. NPH. Hit songs all over the world. Idina Menzel. Kristin Chenoweth.

Can this show get any better? Probably!

Torchwood Coming To The US

torchwood

Many BBC shows have attempted to cross over the pond. The Office flourished! Coupling TANKED.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Torchwood is on its way.

“Unlike U.S. adaptations that have gone awry, “Torchwood” fans can take comfort that the original producing team is on board. In addition to Davies, exec producers include Davies’ producing partner Julie Gardner (former head of drama at BBC Wales for the show’s first season) and Jane Tranter (another BBC vet, now exec VP programming and production at BBC Worldwide Prods. in the U.S.).”

What do you guys think? Will it make it or should we have just been happy with the BBCA version?

Gretchen tries to get Claire to talk about the death of Nathan, or her time with the carnies, but Claire shrugs her off. Literally. And who should appear but Sylar and his eyebrows. He’s in Claire’s classroom when she gets there. She explains how much she’d love to kill him, and he says he needs a friend. And just to drive home that he’s being sincere, he kidnapped Gretchen. Because nothing says ‘I don’t want to be alone and I need your help’ like kidnapping your college experiment in sexuality.

This week’s episode of How I Met Your Mother is hard to describe. I absolutely love the show, but this episode wasn’t as funny as I’m used to. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much, but the “laugh out loud” factor that I’m used to wasn’t there for me this week. Now, I’m not sure if it was because I was sick, or if it was simply because I didn’t find it that funny…why don’t you be the judge.
