Luke Perry is not gay. He’s also playing a fake psychic on this week’s Leverage, while looking suspiciously like a younger Billy Campbell. This is not encouraging. Nor is the fact he wants to take people for everything they have, which is how he comes to the attention of Nate and Company.

American Idol — Recap & Review — Final Auditions

American Idol
Final Auditions

Original Air Date: Feb 3, 2010

I have been waiting since American Idol hit the road one month ago for it to happen. To really fall in love with a contestant, like I did with Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Anoop Desai during the auditions last year. And it finally happened.

I’m a little shocked that it’s 16-year-old Aaron Kelly. I’ve always thought that AI should change its age policy and only accept those 18 and up. Sixteen is too soon, too unformed. Many of the kids aren’t at mature enough yet vocally and mentally, no matter how much talent they have.

Human Target – Recap & Review – Sanctuary

Human Target
Sanctuary

I spent the last couple of days reading the Human Target comic – not the original 1970’s DC edition, but the Vertigo relaunch. Comparing the two, I can definitely say I like the TV series better, if only because in the TV series I get Mark Valley pretending to be a priest. Win.

Winston thinks the case would help straighten Chance out. It’s not just about the monastery, but about an “inside man” named John Gray, who falls for a girl and then calls off the heist he was supposed to help, after which he flees to a Canadian monastery.

This week, Flashback Shawn and Gus get scolded by Henry for trying to base jump. He tells them that when they’re thirty, they can be as wild and reckless as they want…which turns out to be not very, as we find Adult(-like) Shawn and Gus in a pet store cuddling rabbits. It’s all adorable and innocuous until Gus reveals an ulterior motive: he brought Shawn here so that the rabbits would calm him down and he wouldn’t freak out as Gus told him about his secret girlfriend.

Isn’t it about time that we retired a few things? Like having all the contestants screaming, “I’m the next American Idol”? Or the judges trying to outdo each other with percentages (last night, Randy said “100 percent yes” to a contestant and Kara the One-Up-(Wo)Man had to top him with “1,000 percent yes). Enough already!!!!

After many long months of anticipation, Lost finally returned with a two-hour season opener packed with goodies to confuse us all. Last season’s cliffhanger ending left Juliet’s fate as well as the fate of the island itself up in the air, but those questions weren’t answered right out of the gate. This is Lost, remember?
