Captain Jack to Visit Wisteria Lane

photo: bbcamerica

From BBCAmerica:

Torchwood and musical theatre star John Barrowman is going to the States in March to begin filming a role created just for him on ABC’s hit show Desperate Housewives. Of his new role – which he admits he owes to the success of Torchwood – John says he will be ‘stirring up Wisteria Lane quite a bit.'”

“And will Captain Jack return to Torchwood or Doctor Who? He admits he hasn’t quite said goodbye: ‘I love playing Captain Jack… I have no clue what’s going to happen… I would go back in a second.'”

Farewell…

photo: entertainment weekly

…Phil Harris, Reality TV Star

From EntertainmentWeekly.com:

“Phil Harris, known to fans of Discovery’s Deadliest Catch as captain of the crab fishing vessel Cornelia Marie, has passed away. He suffered a stroke late last month while in port off-loading at St. Paul Island in Alaska, where his sons, Jake and Josh, remained by their father’s side. Phil was great because he was exactly what we thought a captain would be: Frequently swearing, chain-smoking, and stressing; a teller of tales with a fondness for pranks; a gruff man who’d choose to stay with his ship even when his doctors said it was dangerous; and a softie who’d turn almost poetic when he reflected on the only job he’d ever known.”

Prison Break Video Game

Prison Break: The Conspiracy
Video Game is set for 2010 Release

I was a little intrigued when I got a Facebook notice today about a video game based on Prison Break. I rushed off an email with the words, “Michael Scofield Lives!”

Just after hitting SEND, the questions started pinging in my head. It’s been… how long since the last episode? And even then, support was waning after a final season that had some ridiculous, if not downright cruel, twists. Does the release even make sense?

Peter and his junior agents are hanging out in the FBI surveillance van watching some crooked financial guy have an affair with someone half his age. That’s interrupted by some gunshots and they storm the house with guns drawn to find the guy dead. Peter seizes control and they have their next case. “Murder isn’t an intellectual pursuit,” is Neal’s wise observation when he’s called in to help. But within minutes, he helps Peter realize their twenty-something hooker is, in fact, the shooter – and she’s escaped.

24/7 Jimmie Johnson: Race to Daytona
Part 3

Original Air Date: Feb 9, 2010

Well, we’ve seen our first race of the year – the Budweiser Shootout. Jimmie Johnson did okay but he didn’t win. He missed the wreck in practice and was smart in running very few laps to miss the next wreck. His teammates, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mark Martin, are on the front row for the Daytona 500 but we have yet to know how Johnson will fair. His other teammate, Jeff Gordon, announced he is competing with him in the race for having a child, as he and his wife Ingrid are expecting their second child shortly after Jimmie and Chandra (seriously – what is in the water this year??). This is what we’ve seen in the last week on our screens, so let’s see what behind-the-scenes extra special things the Race to Daytona brings us!

Lost – Recap & Review – What Kate Does

Lost
What Kate Does

Original Air Date: Feb 9, 2010

Laura Kelley, Associate Staff Writer
laurakelley@thetwocentscorp.com

Tonight’s episode starts out strong, as our curly-haired Other friend in glasses storms in to tell the creepy Asian guy that Sayid is alive. Did anyone else recognize Glasses as Philip Padgett, Mulder’s creeptastic neighbor from the “Milagro” episode of X-Files? Weird and awesome! Sayid asks what happened, and Kate asks how this is all even possible, since apparently she has conveniently forgotten the fact that she’s still on a magical island where polar bears roam free and everyone has daddy issues. And speaking of issues, the bereaved Sawyer tells her that he’s planning to escape from the Others.

Ellen is pretty good! She’s opinionated, she’s funny, she’s brutally honest — just like another judge I can think of. She even turns to Simon and says, “You’re leaving?”

So… it might be a good season after all. Better be, because the talent isn’t that overwhelming so far.

Damages

In a rare move, Damages stays locked in the present, as the Tobin camp prepares to get Danielle Marchetti out of the country and away from Patty Hewes.

It’s odd watching an episode this simple. The audience has been trained to watch for the time jumps, but Damages proves that it can use a nice variety of methods to move its mysteries ahead.
