TwoCents and Five Questions With Michael Cudlitz

photo: tnt

Michael Cudlitz, actor Southland (Officer Cooper)

Well, here we are. The last of our interviews with the amazing cast of Southland. Before I talk about this last cast member, I just want to thank all four cast members and TNT for taking the time to speak with us.

Now, on to Michael Cudlitz, a character actor many of you may know from decades of various roles going as far back as Beverly Hills 90210 or as current as Band of Brothers and LOST. Cudlitz was the most vocal over NBC’s cancellation of the show and is very appreciative to the fans that stand behind the show today. He makes it a point to reply to his fans on Twitter (he can be found at twitter.com/cudlitz) and before we got down to our interview, spent time talking to me about how our days were going and how the weather was in our respective areas. Pretty much, he’s the guy next door, despite playing the tough training cop on Southland.

TheTwoCents: You’ve played a lot of different type of characters in your career. What brought you to / intrigued you about this role?

Luc is back. Sarah is happy. Rebecca and Justin aren’t having a baby (or getting married anytime soon, it seems). Holly didn’t sell her share of the company to shady Dennis (nor did she sleep with him – yay!) but she is determined to find out what the “hidden value” of Ojai is. Kitty is running for senate and I think we’re all caught up now.

So it was brought to my attention that I should be letting you all know who wins first and who gets eliminated last. So, my apologies! So, with that said, I present to you …

The Top 9 Things I Learned From The Amazing Race 16

1. Jet and Cord (brothers/cowboys): Last week, these two caught a lucky break with an all-farming leg and a smart decision with their transportation. They are questioned, well, more like interrogated ,by Carol and Brandy about their bus strategy. The cowboys don’t get the “warm and fuzzy” feeling from them. The Cowboys know where they’re going but when everyone follows them, they pull over and pretend they don’t know (this strategy doesn’t help). Another farming task (lasso a bull made of hay) on the road block will help them get ahead of the rest but angers their race-mates. Oh my gravy – sweet! They finish first. Again. With the gnome in tow, they come in first and win a trip to Patagonia.

It’s the return of the kids this week! Penny and Andrew, who seem to have been long lost from Wisteria Lane, both make a return, with not a whole lot of screen time, but at least their own stories. This week also seemed to be a return to the old ways for our housewives: Gaby is living the high life again, at least for a short while. Tom and Lynette have screwed up with their kids, again. Susan is sticking her nose in where it doesn’t belong, and Bree has attracted yet another strange man. Read on to find out how our housewives fared this week.

TwoCents And Five Questions With Regina King

photo: tnt

…Regina King, Actor

In a male-dominated cast, it’s refreshing to see a powerful woman stand her ground week in and week out. On Southland, that actress is Regina King, known over the years for many of her famous roles, from the TV show 227 to her supporting role in Jerry Maguire and much more.

During the commercials of the last few episodes of Southland, previews of her new movie, Our Family Wedding, flashed on the screen, co-starring with Forest Whitaker and America Ferrera. Although busy, she took some time to answer questions about her current project and what pairing would most surprise her.

Question: What is your favorite part about being on the show?

“Mawwiage….is what bwings us….togethaaaah….today.”  Sorry.  I just had to get that in there.  Marriage is indeed what brings us together today, as everyone’s favorite arson investigator, the oddly charming, darkly humorous Louie Amante, is getting married.

He’s invited the whole squad to the nuptials…but as we soon learn, our dashing groom is getting a whole lot more than he bargained for.  Rather than merely getting them something off their Pottery Barn registry, it appears our fearless detectives have decided to gift-wrap justice instead.
