TwoCents & Five Questions With John Park

… John Park, Reality Contestant

Our last eliminated contestant from last week’s American Idol is John Park.

John was sent packing after singing “Gravity” by John Mayer. Maybe it was that the general public is really sick of this song? Who knows.

We caught up with John who shared his TwoCents about his experience on Idol with us.

TheTwoCents: What would you say is your most memorable experiences from the show?
John Park: Most memorable is just meeting the other contestants and really becoming good friends and also working with Rickey Minor and the band. I mean, just working with the top of the top crew and band and coaches. It was just incredible, just the whole, just meeting new people and meeting incredible people.

American Idol — Recap & Review — Top 8 Men

American Idol
Top 8 Men

Original Air Date: Mar 10, 2010

Just as with the women on Tuesday, only one performer stood out when the Top 8 men took the stage. Michael “Big Mike” Lynche not only got praise from the judges, he had Kara in tears. There’s no better affidavit than that.

For a while, it looked as if no one would perform without a guitar. The first five contestants strummed along as they sang. But Aaron Kelly broke the trend and it stayed broken until the end.

What’s interesting is that no one crashed and burned, even contestants that seemed to be the obvious choices to cut this week, although almost every one (except Mike) struggled with some pitch problems. That certainly was the first singer’s issue.

Human Target – Recap & Review – Salvage and Reclamation

Human Target
Salvage and Reclamation

It’s been a long three weeks without Christopher Chance and Company, and I for one am glad to have them back. Their next mission: rescue a guy played by Kris Marshall (AKA Nick Harper, the hilarious older son from the British comedy My Family) from South America. That show was hilarious. Abduction is so not funny.

But coming to the rescue is our hero, who by the way is a fluent linguist on top of all the other stuff he does. Mark Valley’s Spanish is better than mine, and I took four years of it. Of course, if Chance rescued him in two minutes, we’d have no show, so you can guess this will get worse before it gets better. Or as he says, “Better than some, not as well as others.” Uh-oh…

TwoCents & Five Questions With Michelle Delamor

delamor

…Michelle Delamor, Reality Contestant

Day three of our interviews with contestants voted off American Idol last week brings us to Michelle Delamor.

Michelle was voted off (some believe unfairly) after singing “With Arms Wide Open” last week. This week we caught up with Michelle and she shared her TwoCents with us.

TheTwoCents: You look like a star up on stage. How do you think you developed that presence and look?
Michelle Delamor: I think it’s just because I’ve been singing on stage since I was about five years old, mostly at church, though. But that’s been my platform and my playground, so I definitely think that’s helped me and doing gigs. I do a lot of gigs back at home.

Uncle Mitch is back! UNCLE MITCH IS BACK! Okay, I have no idea why I love Uncle Mitch so much (or why I can’t just call him Mitch, considering when he’s around, the kids are barely on), but I love this guy. I love what he brings to the show, I love his character, I love the relationships he has with each of the people around him, and … oh I just love the guy. The previews have him and Gary in the radio booth together but I’m not sure how well that will go. Either way, I’m just glad to have him back!

The New Adventures of Old Christine – Recap & Review – Subway, Somehow

Tonight, Christine encourages Ritchie’s class to take public transportation, only to loose him on the subway. She’ll handle it calmly, though, just like she did when he scraped his elbow. And when he went away to camp. And when she ran him over with her car. On second thought, panic.

TwoCents And Five Questions With Mark Valley

photo: fox

…Mark Valley, Actor
Human Target has been the biggest surprise of the TV midseason. At first, it looked like it could be just another action show with no heart. Yet what it is, is a great action show with sharp humor and a trio of quirky characters who have amazing chemistry. The man who holds it all together is series star Mark Valley, finally getting his due after going quietly underrecognized in shows like Pasadena, Keen Eddie and Fringe. Valley sat down with us Monday to discuss his amazing new series.

TTC: What were some of the challenges starting on the show? How familiar were you with the original comic canon?

How great is Alan Cumming as the slimy, yet hyper-witty Eli Gold? When he cracked down on the mystery tweeter who has been divulging info on Peter and Alicia’s private life, it was like watching a brain surgeon slice into someone’s consciousness. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am!

Meanwhile, the cracks that have been plaguing Stern, Lockhart & Gardner as well as Alicia and Peter’s marriage are starting to show even more. The law firm is still making cut backs, including a self-policing hydrating system (BYOB) and fake flowers instead of fresh. Ouch!

Farewell Corey Haim

haim

From MSNBC.com:

“Corey Haim, a 1980s teen heartthrob for his roles in Lucas and The Lost Boys whose career was blighted by drug abuse, has died. He was 38.

“Haim died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Los Angeles County coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said.

“The Toronto-born actor got his start in television commercials at 10 and earned a good reputation for his work in such films as 1985’s Murphy’s Romance and his portrayal of Liza Minelli’s dying son in the 1985 television film A Time to Live.

“His career peaked and he became a teen heartthrob with his roles in the 1986 movie Lucas, and The Lost Boys, in which he battled vampires.

“In recent years, he appeared in the A&E reality TV show The Two Coreys with his friend Corey Feldman. It was canceled in 2008 after two seasons.”

Neal’s in a great mood at the beginning of the season finale. Why do I think he won’t be by the end of it?

He gets summoned to meet Alex – whom I am actually sort of getting tired of putting up with if I’m honest – and she tells him the music box is at the Italian Consulate, and conveniently there’s a party there next week. As Mozzie says, “Oh, great, an international incident.”
