Last week, we saw the return of our favorite Los Angeles police officers. Cooper was recovered but left alone; Sammy was enjoying being a father while Lydia was hating being a mother; rookie Steele couldn’t get his time in the military out of his head. We met Mendoza (Chad Michael Murray), who was new to us but apparently has a backstory with our guys and we settled in for the fifth season of SouthLAnd. Tonight, we learn more about Mendoza and see what kind of life change is next for Lydia.

“Being a cop in Los Angeles is different than patrolling other cities. Not every officer can take the heat.”

This is it! Almost! Brooke and Sheldon and whoever won Last Chance Kitchen! Which I won’t spoil here!

Brooke, Sheldon, and the third chef have to cook in Tom’s restaurant for a dinner service. One of them won’t make it to the head-to-head showdown that will the second part of the finale.

I am happy to see a more of our gal Felicity working with our duo, but not happy that she gets involved with the case at hand and gets herself in danger. As for our guys; with the helpful nudge from Felicity, they ask out the gals and actually get a private life.

Thea and Moira have their own problems…as usual…they are dealing with, so let’s get started.

Lots of good stuff this week. Phillip calls someone else a narcissist. Brandon calls someone else a bully. Cochran calls someone else unpredictable. Someone refers to Shamar as his or her own “Phillip” and not in a nice way (but, really, no, that couldn’t be taken as a compliment by other than Phillip).

But wait! There’s more! Someone finds a hidden immunity idol! Someone invokes Russell Hantz’s name. Malcolm gets a Stealth Inc. codename. Someone gets what’s coming to them in Tribal Council (and I don’t even mean the person who gets sent home).

Director Vance is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife, whilst Acting Deputy Craig still isn’t cut out for management. Vance decides to come back to NCIS after uncovering some financial information about his deceased wife, but his return has little to do with work.

The case begins with the death of Lance Corporal Crowe, who collapsed during a routine training operation.

Pretty Little Liars – Recap & Review – Hot Water

Pretty Little Liars
Hot Water

Original Air Date: Feb 19, 2013

Lauren A – Senior Reviewer

The revolving door of parental figures has swung again, but I like the Liars better when they’re unsupervised. After so many things went missing last week – the picture of Ali and Cece with Det. Wilden, the money covered in dice sketches that Hanna put in the church offertory, and –oh, yeah – JASON, the Liars are working overtime to regain what ground they can.

Aria’s mandate is that, from now on, all evidence gets stored in the cell phone. Yeah, because A clearly doesn’t have access to THAT. These and other random suggestions and storylines made this week’s PLL a little jumpy and all over the place, especially when all of the driving around in circles (and over Wilden!) lead us back to one elder Hastings sister…

Just when you thought she might have been gone forever, Sara’s back and enlisting Neal’s help on surveillance of Marie Antoinette’s perfume that her company is insuring, but as always, they end up wrapped up in a case. So is she here to stay?

Meanwhile, Elizabeth has been supremely involved in cases this season with amazing results. This week, she’s not just involved, she’s at the heart of it and with Peter. Mr. and Mrs. Suit are the core couple of this show and when it’s compromised, you better believe the whole team is in on figuring it out.

Justified – Recap & Review – Money Trap

Justified
Money Trap

Original Air Date: Feb 19, 2013

Lyssa G – Reviewer
Lyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

Here we are at week seven of Justified! Just over half way through the season already. Cannot believe how fast this season is going. Last week was really great, nothing actually really happened, but there was some great character interactions. Obviously Boyd and Ava getting engaged is huge, and was one of the most emotional scenes that I have seen on Justified.

This week hopefully we will have a little bit more on the story. Raylan seems to be on his own goofy path the last few episodes. Raylan, Boyd and pretty much anyone that thinks he is alive, are all still attempting to find Drew Thompson. It seems as though that is going to take up the entire season. There is also what is going on with Johnny and Boyd that still needs to be resolved. Ellen Mae is still out there some where so hopefully she ends up getting to stay alive and we have to see what happens to Boyd if she is willing to testify against him and Ava. Lets see what happens this week.

TwoCents and Five Questions with Cloris Leachman (Raising Hope)

Cloris Leachman, Actor

Cloris Leachman has had a heck of a career. She is a celebrated American actress of stage, film and television. She has won eight Primetime Emmy Awards – more than any other female performer – and one Daytime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and numerous other awards. She also earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1971 for her role as “Ruth Popper” in “The Last Picture Show.” In 2011, she was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Raising Hope, where she hilariously plays “Maw-Maw”, the not always there, but always funny grandma to the Chance family. I was honored to speak with her about this role and her life in general. She certainly isn’t boring! Enjoy!

TheTwoCents: Can you talk about how you got the role in the show?

TwoCents and Five Questions with Liz Meriwether (New Girl)

what happens next?

what happens next?

Liz Meriwether, Writer/Executive Producer

Liz Meriwether is the creator, executive producer, and head writer for one of FOX’s biggest new hits, New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, and Lamorne Morris. Three weeks ago, Zooey’s “Jess” and Jake’s “Nick” finale gave into some of their romantic tension and kissed. Well, Nick did anyway. We’ve been experiencing the fallout ever since. Liz participated in a recent call to discuss the kiss and what it means for our show. Please enjoy!

TheTwoCents: You have said before that Jess and Nick wouldn’t happen in the second season or anything. Why didn’t you draw it out longer?
