Tick, Tick, Tick…

When we last saw Beckett and Castle, some of their sexual tension seemed to have diluted for a more teasing friendship style relationship. Last night turned it all on it’s head as even if with a killer on the loose, all anyone wanted to comment on was whether or not they’d done IT. As a former Moonlighting/Cheers viewer, here’s hoping they don’t do IT for many seasons to come!

On to the killer… Or should we say serial killer. Every week Castle gives us a killer, but this week we get the crème-de-la-crème of psycho serial killers. It seems our murder is obsessed with, and killing in the name of Nikki Heat. However, he’s a little disassociated since he seems to believe that Detective Beckett actually is Nikki Heat. And he’s making calls to her to tell her about his murders.

While the metaphor of walls is starting to wear a little thin, it does provide an interesting irony. The walls are closing in around Carol Tobin, yet the first time we see her, the room looks open and relaxing. It takes a minute to realize this is basically her jail cell. Patty, on the other hand, has a quick flash nightmare about what she might find behind her walls.

Firstly: I so dislike this title. Let’s just state exactly what the crime is in the title. That was original. Needless to say, I don’t need to explain who the dead bodies are, do I? When the police captain (played by Glenn Morshower, late of 24, AKA Secret Service Agent Aaron Pierce, sporting a New York accent!) turns up, you know this is a big deal. Now our cops have an axe to grind and rightfully so.

When last we left, CTU had gone boom in a big way (again), thanks to an EMP bomb. This left Jack and Cole reliant on the NSA. We all know how well working with another agency other than your own goes on most TV shows. And the guys at CTU are busy running around trying to put their stuff back together. Obviously, it’s going to be a rough hour.

It’s time once again for glitter, gowns and spray tans! That’s right; Dancing with the Stars is back, with an all new cast, a new co-host and a slightly revamped set (celebraquarium anyone?). We’ve got actors, athletes, reality TV stars, and an American hero. And this week they either danced the Viennese Waltz or the Cha-Cha-Cha. Read on to find out how everyone did.

TwoCents And Five Questions With Lacey Brown

photo: fox

…Lacey Brown, Reality Contestant

Last week, Lacey Brown became the first contestant cut from the Top 12 on American Idol. Although she’d had a few wobbly weeks at the beginning of the semi-finals, the judges were beginning to praise her performances and the unique timbre of her voice. Her elimination is even more difficult because this is the second time she’s been cut from the show. In S8, she didn’t make it past Hollywood Week.

The Two Cents: There’s been so much talk this season about conflicting criticism from the judges. Do you feel like people got a real sense of who you were as an artist?

Gossip Girl – Recap & Review – The Sixteen Year Old Virgin

It appears that the Gossip Girl writers are big on the saying “Third Time’s The Charm.” The first two episodes back from hiatus were, if anything, sub par. Almost as appalling as the idea of Blair Waldorf wearing something off the rack.

The episodes lacked purple, backstabbing, lying, twists and turns, bra shots (Serena’s don’t count because they’re basically another pair of eyes at this point) and the promise of sex. Not this time around.  Gossip Girl has proven once again that there’s no shame in watching this show.

Nick Vera: Clown. Smart-aleck. The guy who can always be counted on for a wisecrack. But in art, as in life, such characters are often deceptively deep. In the tour de force that is “Flashover,” Vera is given his due, and the music of Pink Floyd sets the stage for one of the most heart-wrenchingly awesome episodes Cold Case has ever produced.

My Two Cents – Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution

Here at TheTwoCents, we usually take a light approach to television and our views about it. Just last night I wrote a snarky, joking review about The Amazing Race. But for this column, I’m not only getting serious, I’m going to get personal.

The preview for Jamie Oliver’s show Food Revolution was important enough to pre-empt Brothers & Sisters, which I happen to review. That’s not why I am doing this column. I’m doing it because I believe what Jamie is doing is important enough to garner pre-empting one of the top shows on television and for me to share my story with you.

I’m back! A big thanks to Farrah for doing an awesome job filling in for me last week. Our ever omniscient Mary Alice talks about families and winning in her voiceovers this week, but to me, this episode was all about agendas. Everyone has an agenda; unfortunately, we still don’t know what they all are. Susan and Gaby’s agendas involve their kids, and were basically straight forward, but what are Sam, Irina and Patrick Logan up to? Read on to catch up with what’s going on with our housewives.
