American Idol
Top 9

Original Air Date: Apr 6, 2010

For the first time this season, no one sucked. Not even Tim Urban. That’s got to count as a minor miracle or something.

It was also a show with instruments that have never graced the Idol stage. A didgeridoo and the bagpipes. How that has anything to do with the songs of Lennon and McCartney, I don’t know. But it sure kept things interesting.

And if you’re looking for some gossip, let’s talk about the appearance of Lacey Brown in the audience. The camera picked her up at the beginning, when she had two ladies sitting next to her. Later, those seats were filled with David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel of Bones, which just happened to be celebrating its 100th episode. Ryan noted this major event, but didn’t say boo to Lacey. A deliberate snub? You decide.

Lost – Recap & Review – Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After

Original Air Date: Apr 7, 2010

Is there anybody who watches Lost that doesn’t love Desmond Hume? He’s one of the most compelling characters on the show because he’s so darn likable, so I was pretty excited for tonight’s Desmond-centric hour, and the episode was pretty good and delivered several answers we’ve been waiting for. But we’ll get to that later.

Desmond wakes up and discovers that he’s on the island because Widmore brought him there, so he grabs his IV stand and starts kicking some ass, proving to me once again why I love Desmond.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 3 Elimination

Dancing with the Stars
Week 3 Elimination

Original Air Date: Apr. 6, 2010

Annette: Senior Reviewer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s elimination night and once again, no time is wasted in announcing the results of the first two couples. This week both Aiden and Erin didn’t have to sweat out the hour as the found out they were safe. Then, to justify the one hour program we were treated to lots of filler between results announcements. But the question on everyone’s mind, who went home?

Our dramatic gang has been up to a lot lately. Chuck lost his hotel to his mother/not mother/mother and his uncle, Nate and Serena are hot and heavy but after Nate saved Little J again her crush is sure to come back, Dan and Vanessa can’t figure their way from friends to more-than-friends and Dorota finally made her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy. In this episode, Chuck will attempt to get his hotel back and it’s Nate’s birthday. I’m sure drama will ensue.

It has taken awhile, but at long last all is right in Buymoria. Chuck is a real spy. Casey returns to the fold, with Morgan in tow. Superman is dead. Chuck and Sarah hook up. Read on, Macduff.

When we left off last week, Superman had taken off with Sarah to “settle an old score.” This week, we pick up right where we left off. Continue reading

Castle – Recap & Review – Wrapped Up In Death

Castle
Wrapped Up In Death
Original Air Date: Apr 5, 2010

Karen Belgrad – The TwoCents Reviewer

karenbelgrad@thetwocentscorp.com

After two weeks of doom and gloom, Castle jumped back into the swing of things with a fun, purely camp hour of television. I think Beckett summed up the hour best : “Rogue archeologists, Mayan death threats, drug dealers claiming to deal in antiquities, and missing mummies? There’s got to be a story that makes all of this make sense.”

Yes, if you came to your television looking for a gritty procedural, you came to the wrong place! I am happy that Castle seems to embracing it’s niche. It’s not raw and gritty like a CSI or Law & Order. I think Castle is at it’s best when it’s smart, witty, and winking at the audience. I’m not looking for exact science/forensics, although I will make note if it seems to far out whack. I’m looking to enjoy the banter, the flirting, and the smirks!

Last night’s ode to Indiana Jones was not a Mensa level mystery, but a fun romp full of quirk and personality. Let’s run down the folks we met along the way and try not to fall victim to the mummy’s curse!

My Two Cents: Red Eye Poll Best Characters

Vote! Vote! Vote!

The site has their own brackets, and the final four have come down to…

Charlie Kelly (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia)
vs.
Neal Caffrey (White Collar)

AND…

Michael Westen (Burn Notice)
vs.
Gemma Morrow (Sons of Anarchy)

This could come down to an FX showdown! So huff some Elmer’s glue and down some cat food, or just whack someone with a skateboard! I’m not taking sides, but GO VOTE!

Damages
All That Crap About Your Family

Original Air Date: Apr 5, 2010

Tom R. – Sr. Staff Writer
tom@thetwocents.com

Once again, family seems to be the important word. So important, in fact, that one character cannot even say it. The Tobins continue to self-destruct, Ellen learns more about her own history, and she reconnects with her late fiancé, the only chance she has had to start a family of her own.

The episode begins with Ellen meeting with Anne Connel. The depth of her relationship to Ellen is soon revealed. She confesses that Ellen’s mother had given her to Anne for a period of six months, and was about to let Anne legally adopt Ellen. When her mother got cold feet, she took Ellen back and broke all ties with Anne. Continue reading

Hello Nurse?

who is nurse jeffrey?

Have you seen this man?  Do you recognize him?  Neither do I, but apparently his name is Nurse Jeffrey and he was on an episode of House once and he’s getting a spinoff in the form of an iPhone app.

The app is titled inHouse and it will update every Monday during the summer hiatus with exclusives from the show and a mini-series with this Nurse Jeffrey guy.  Maybe they’ll give us some clues to why we should remember him.

You can read more about it HERE.
