Picking up where we left off last week, Raj is out for coffee with the girl from the party and talking way too much about himself. She, on the other hand is all about awkward silence. It’s no real surprise that she bails on him – or that he’s completely unaware of how uncomfortable she was.

Is it just because Raj is babbling? Or is she as nervous around men as he is around women and just got scared? She looked scared.

As all this unfolds, a mysterious man asks Holmes to take a strange case…he thinks the disease he has was given to him deliberately. Hit the jump to find out more.

Comic Book Men
Super Hoagie

Original Air Date: Feb 21, 2013

Jeff L – Señor Staff Writer
JeffL@thetwocentscorp.com

We open on Bryan Johnson and Walt Flanagan discussing how much damage The Avengers’ battle sequences would cost in real life. Walt thinks that if a superhero saved you, but your car was destroyed in the process in no way would you make the superhero (or your insurance company) pay for the lost car. Right. My “eternal gratitude” would last about two trips on the bus.

The guys are talking about their all-time favorite robots, when Bryan bursts in and slaps down a menu from Readies Fine Foods and points out that there are 97 sandwiches on their menu named after local Red Bank establishments, but nothing for the Secret Stash. They make Ming cold-call cuss-out the owner and demand he come to the Stash to explain himself. The owner, Tom, arrives at the store and Walt points out the omission of the Secret Stash from his menu. He agrees to put a Secret Stash Superhero Sandwich on the menu, but only if the guys pair up and compete for who’s sandwich makes the cut. Walt tries to quickly team up with Mike the only member of the Comic Book Men who’s also a Culinary Institute trained chef, but Ming quickly points out that the teams are always Mike and Ming versus Bryan and Walt and Walt relents.

Skip The Tour

Original Air Date: Feb 21, 2013

Colleen – TwoCents Reviewer
Colleen@thetwocentscorp.com

Tonight’s episode begins with Skip eating breakfast while walking outside the White House when he runs into a White House tour. He greets them enthusiastically. He thinks that the people on the tour should know who he is by giving them all sorts of clues. Some of them try and take pictures, but the tour guide says they cannot. He continues to lead the tour and Skip decides to tag along. Little does he know what happens….

We cut to the White House private family residence where Dale and his wife Emily are discussing the impending visit of Dale’s brother, Doug. Apparently this is not going over well with Emily. Dale says that there is nothing to worry about since he is staying in a hotel and not the White House. Emily comments that the only reason that Doug is staying in a hotel is because “the White House is too good for him”. Apparently she is still mad at him about comments he made at their wedding. Without notice, Doug enters into the Oval Office.

Archer
Once Bitten

Original Air Date: Feb 21, 2013

Elizabeth – TwoCents Reviewer
elizabeth@thetwocentscorp.com

Trouble in Turkmenistan this week on Archer! Mallory has sent Ray, Cyrill and Archer on a mission to the desert to blow up an oil pipeline (a task which Lana, enviro-freak, disapproves of) and their jeep gets bogged in the sand. Obviously, this is the time when Archer feels a certain call of nature (“the Lambs are screaming!”), and unfortunately gets a nip on his you-know-what from a Cobra during his bathroom break in the dunes. Slowly dying, Archer slips in and out of hallucinations of James Mason doing a ‘Ghost of Christmas Past’ routine with him.

Despite his protestations, James Mason shows Archer the end of his lacrosse career at the hands of a gun-wielding stalker and a lonely 6th birthday, when his real father came to visit him. Unfortunately, Archer is revived at precisely this moment, and having been so close to grasping the identity of his pops, the image fades from his mind. Set up for a story arc, anybody?

Britta and Troy watch Inspector Spacetime half naked in bed when Abed knocks on the door. Britta hightails it out the window. They don’t want him to know because Abed is weird and needs to be eased into the transition of Troy and Britta’s dating relationship. Britta does some pretty awesome moves out on the fire escape. She gets dressed and runs around to the front door pretending she’s brought donuts for her breakfast date with Troy. Abed says he’s known for weeks that they’ve been sleeping together but he just really likes donuts. Well, I certainly can’t fault him there. Donuts are delicious.

The study group is planning a road trip.  Troy and Abed are going to the Inspector Spacetime convention and Jeff wants to go skiing with Annie. Unfortunately, the slopes are closed due to an avalanche killing some tourists. Bummer.

TwoCents and Five Questions with David Mazouz (Touch)

David Mazouz, Actor

David (pronounced Dahveed) Mazouz is a very talented young actor. Currently starring as Jake Bohm, a mute clairvoyant with an uncanny ability to see patterns in numbers, on FOX’s Touch; he has no problem holding his own alongside the seasoned veterans Kiefer Sutherland and Maria Bello. With a background in musical and sketch improvisation, David has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most promising young stars. He honed his skills (and wrote his own material) at the legendary Second City and at The Improv. Other credits of his include Mike and Molly, The Office, and Criminal Minds amongst others. I got the chance to talk to David one-on-one on the phone and he shared some of his thoughts on his career. What a pleasure! Please enjoy!

Marriage is a merger of two lives – you have to make sure both parties are on the same page. There are assets to combine; which couch will stay, whose TV to keep. Baggage will be inherited and problems need to be solved together. Marriage, like a firm merging, is complicated – that’s why all the players need to be on the same page.

Guess who’s not a willing participant? Harvey Freaking Specter. Edward Darby wants to win Harvey’s respect and Jessica needs to keep The Closer after the merger – he’s a valuable asset they need after the wedding. The solution? Like adults who understand the severity of a merger/marriage and the impact it has on multiple lives, they bet on a case.

American Idol
Sudden Death, Round II

Original Air Date: Feb 21, 2013

Patricia Morris Buckley — Sr. Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s Sudden Death Part II with the first group of guys at the Mirage in Vegas. As with the women on Wednesday, 10 contestants sing, then only five are chosen to go on. As the judges could split the vote, the tiebreaker is producer/vocal coach Jimmy Iovine.

The crowd of 1,500 sure enjoyed the show because of the 10 singers, many were dramatic performers. Several received huge rounds of applause. But in the end, it was a singing competition and those who showed strong or interesting vocals were the ones that moved on.
