Here’s the moment Whovians have been waiting for (unless you saw it on an illegally downloaded torrent or happened to be at Wondercon two weeks ago): a new Doctor Who. Not just a new Doctor, but a new companion and a new head writer.

In other words, this is really and completely a brand new Who. Let’s see where it takes us, shall we?

This week, we find the characters aboard Destiny recovering from the wounds – literal and metaphorical – from last week. Rush is already back on his feet, though he looks like hell. Young tries to be friendly to him; he has ordered all the military personnel to play nice with the civilians, and is leading by example.

Rush is more concerned by the fact that the ship drops out of FTL to find a star in what should be empty space.

An old friend/foe returns, the effects of Red Kryptonite take over our favorite good guy to turn him into…a bad boy, and a bromance emerges! Who can you trust when you aren’t even yourself?

This week’s Smallville was as usual a great episode filled with action, and those blurred lines of good and bad.

This week, Gaius is a terrible lying liar, Merlin eaves drops on about seventy different people, Mordred rears his creepy-ass head and Uther is still exhaustingly incompetent.

On the plus side, Morgana gets more plotty things to run around doing and Arthur and Merlin almost start to act like friends again. Almost.

It’s another tear-jerker, people! Brace yourselves. We open with a commuter train at a station. Weary travelers, iPod zombies, pan handlers, you know the score. But in one car, the lights go all wonky and in a flash, a man (Peter Weller) appears in the middle of the isle.

As he exits the car, a pick-pocket (who I’m pretty sure belongs in New Cap City) enters. Much to the thief’s horror, he’s walked into a mausoleum. Every person in the car is dead.

Here’s the low-down for this episode: JT is dumb. Amanda is not but gets steam-rolled. Something happened that we’d never seen before and it’s all based on faulty assumptions.

Pre-Credits: We’re back with the Villains on Night 21 after ejecting Coach. Sandra solo-views a recap of what happened at Tribal Council: she fooled Russell into deciding to get rid of Coach. Jerri solo-views that she didn’t see that coming and now fears that she’s next. She talks with Danielle, who says there’s no way she’s next. Russell promises us, in a solo-view, that Sandra and Courtney will be next to go since he doesn’t trust them.

An angel walks into a bar… it sounds like the beginning of a terrible joke, and it kind of really is. Zacheriah sits at a bar, drinking his sorrows away after being fired, when along comes an earthquake.

Except of course, it’s not an earthquake, just God telling Zach he’s got his job back.
