There is an old rule of thumb for writing anything: Start with the ending and work backward. This week’s episode of Justified proves the truth in this statement.

Between Boyd Crowder’s open ended question to Raylan, and the unveiling of Karl Handelman’s collection, the episode deliver more of a kick than any gun Raylan has fired.

American Idol– Recap & Review – Top 7

American Idol
Top 7

Original Air Date: Apr 20, 2010

Patricia Morris Buckley — Staff Writer

Was it just me or did every one of the Top 7 struggle at least a little with pitch problems this week? Even Crystal Bowersox wobbled a little, but in her case, she had the excuse of tears.

This week’s theme was Songs of Inspiration, which has often resulted in some strange song choices over the years as “inspirational” means different things to different people. Alicia Keys filled the mentor chair fine, although she followed a tough act after Adam Lambert. As she gave her last words during the video clip, I felt as though she was trying to tell us what she really thought of the contestant’s performance, only in code. “If only XX will XX, then he’ll/she’ll do great” (except in the case of Crystal, whom Ms. Keys called “special”).

We Can’t Win

Who can you trust? In this week’s episode the stage is set and another piece of the puzzle falls into place. Our characters learn that trust is difficult to earn, impossible to get back, and easy to exploit. Or is it?

In a very eye catching opening we join Chad in Geneva Switzerland as he prepares to cover an energy summit being attended by the world’s political leaders, and Anna. Big surprise there. The Visitor high commander could out maneuver them all. Chad has hopped out of the shower to discover Anna in his room. She asks about his trust in her, starts kissing the bewildered journalist and then proceeds to strangle him! Oh, wait. Whew. That was a nightmare for Chad, and just a dream. Bet you he didn’t get enough sleep last night.

The Last Recruit

Laura Kelley – Associate Staff Writer

We are only 4 episodes away from the last new episode of Lost ever, and tonight the show kept things rolling. As you all remember, and some of you such as myself laughed at by accident, Locke got hit by a car last week.

So Locke heads to the hospital (guess what doctor just happens to work there) and Ben goes with him because he’s just that adorable. Then Sun sees Locke and starts yelling “it’s him!” Why? I have no idea.

Just in case you haven’t heard the good news, it seems the Peacock Network can do something right after all, and even though the ratings haven’t been stellar NBC is giving it a solid chance by giving it a pick up for next season.

It’s a good time slot, too – it gives me time to wind down from my post-LOST haze. This week, I’m a little concerned about Amber, so let’s see if Sarah finds out her daughter didn’t take the SATs.

Knight Fall

Oh, a Renaissance Faire.  Someone get me a turkey leg. There’re some knights and the Queen chooses a champion among them.  The queen chooses Sir William who then has to fight the king’s personal knight.  The king questions the queen’s choice and everyone is way into this.

So the knights go at it and the king’s knight starts kicking Sir William’s butt but then Sir Billy gets his second wind and wins the bout.  William then gets some severe bloodshot eyes and collapses.  The king whips out his cell phone and calls for an ambulance, as you do.

It’s elimination night once again and our eight remaining celebrities must sweat out an hour of random performances by musical guests and Macy’s “Stars of Dance.”

But to kick of the show we learn the fate of two of our stars. Nicole and Derek live to dance another day, but sadly Kate and Tony find out immediately that they are in the bottom two.

Faye O – Senior Reviewer

Going into this episode, I had high hopes that it would be the final return of the roots of How I Met Your Mother that we’ve been lacking, but building up to with the past few episodes. I was wrong.

While the episode did provide viewers with some humor, and a slight insight to Ted’s future, it wasn’t anything spectacular.

Mystery-schmystery. How HOT was the sparring match between Kate Beckett and Detective Tom Demming? It may have ruffled the feathers of some viewers longing for the Castle/Beckett hook-up, as Demming is certainly an interloper to their wishes!

Yes folks, in addition to the case of the week, this week the clearly smitten Beckett found herself with a new, equally smitten suitor. And our mystery writer found himself unable to use his poker face to hide his disappointment at the possibility of missed opportunity.
