Steve Carell to Leave The Office?

finishing early? that's what she said

Looks like Dunder Mifflin might have one less employee on the payroll.

TVGuide reports that Steve Carell, who plays The Office’s wonderfully awkward Michael Scott, might leave the series after next year.

While out promoting his new movie Date Night, Carell stated that his contract runs through next season and that he might not renew it once it is over. NBC declined to comment.

What do you think? Can The Office survive without Carell?

This week’s results show felt like a concert with the results thrown in merely as seasoning. And even though I’m not a country fan, I enjoyed the music thoroughly.

Rascal Flatts kicked off the music with “Unstoppable.” Then Carrie Underwood introduced three brothers (no, not Jonas) who are touring with her this summer, Sons of Sylvia.

First two minutes a bomb goes off. Do I have your attention?

We also have a contract killer turned witness, turned fish store proprietor in love and shunned, a momentary return of Raph, and another family drama free episode.

Here we go.

Arizona and Callie are arguing about having a baby when Mark bursts in demanding suture kits – Mark’s daughter is having her baby boy. They deliver him OK and we’re back at Seattle Grace. There’s a bigwig doctor (Tom Evans) in town and everyone – especially Christina – is excited to see him (he is trying out for the cardio position that Derek was looking to fill before Teddy decided she wanted to stay permanently).

And soon a helicopter is delivering two dudes that were in a boating accident and the Dad seems to think it’s the Son’s fault. Just another day at Seattle Grace, right, readers? Follow onwards with me and let’s see what happens this week!

Did you see Alicia go all Tom Cruise on Jack Nicholson, er, her old boss Jonas Stern? I don’t know if it’s like this in real courthouses, but I sure had fun watching.

But the affects were certainly long term in ways I couldn’t have predicted.

NBC Announces Casting Calls For Second Season Of The Sing-Off

photo: nbc

NBC’s renewed vocal-competition series “The Sing-Off” will be traveling to four U.S. cities in May in search of the most talented a capella singing groups to compete for a chance at a Sony Music recording contract. Auditions will take place in New York City (May 22), Nashville (May 29), Chicago (May 31) and Los Angeles (June 5).

“The Sing-Off” originally debuted as a four-night event last December and was hosted by multi-platinum recording artist, Nick Lachey. The one-of-a-kind battle of voices culminated with a live finale. Celebrity judges Nicole Scherzinger, Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds will continue to critique the singing groups with their expertise.

Well, here we are. One third of the way through the “back nine.” And what do we do? We switch reviewers on ya. Sorry! But let me introduce myself. I’m Farrah and if you’re not new to this site, you already know me. If you’re reading this on TheClubGlee, then pretty much everything you’ve read, I’ve written (and if you’re not on TCG, you should head over to the site to check it out). I love Glee (obviously, or else I wouldn’t have been chosen to write the review) and I also like to get snarky sometimes. But that’s who I am, so thanks for sticking around.

This week, I was super excited because April Rhodes (aka The Chen aka Kristin Chenoweth) was returning. On top of that, Kurt and Finn’s parents are dating (could you imagine Kurt’s excitement at the thought of living under the same roof as Finn??), Sue was being honored as the best cheer coach in two thousand years, and Brittany’s cat was reading her diary (sorry, I had to go there…). So much going on!

Seeing Raylan Givens go through an episode without a hat is like a contestant on American Idol who suddenly bleaches their hair completely blonde. You wonder if it’s just for the sake of being experimental. Their performance doesn’t suffer, but it upstages anything they do.

The opening scene this week is the best part of the hour. Ava buys supplies in the local hardware store, run by a couple named Mike and Helen.

Tonight in everyone’s favorite scandalous zip code, Naomi atones for her crime, Liam and Annie grow closer, Debbie and Harry are bound for splitsville, and Dixon finds himself on the wrong side of a surveillance cam.

Also, Evil Jen and Loser Mark return to the series with a resounding “meh.”

What a backwards day! Everyone on Idol put in impressive performances, except the usually great Crystal Bowersox. Yes, the world has turned upside down.

One of the very best guest judges ever, Shania Twain, returned to mentor the six remaining contestants. Plus, they could sing any of her songs, a tall order for those who aren’t comfortable with country.
