Body Language

This week, Michael misreads body cues from a potential sale/ girlfriend, Dwight and Kelly work together, and Michael’s lost his sales mojo.

In the cold open, Michael wants everyone in the office to learn Spanish because he’s going on vacation to Mexico.  Michael is having problems with the gender portion of the language so Oscar helps him by having him label things with the international gender sign.  Leave it to Michael, but his entire office is now labeled with post it notes of genitalia.

Supernatural – Recap & Review – The Devil You Know

The Devil You Know

Original Air Date: Apr 29, 2010

Nicola – Associate Staff Writer

This week’s Supernatural starts with a not-so-supernatural premise: the latest outbreak of swine flu. What makes me think that this episode was conceptualized a few months ago?

The brothers are posing as CDC agents, attempting to track Pestilence with the trail of maladies he’s leaving in his wake (which, if last week is any indication, is probably embodied by a trail of bodily fluids, gross). But they’re just a few steps behind. That is, until they’re paid a visit by an old “friend” of theirs.

The Mentalist – Recap & Review – Red All Over

The Mentalist
Red All Over

Original Air Date: Apr 29, 2010.

Liz – Associate Staff Writer
liz@thetwocentscorp.com

Coming down off of their triumph last week of who killed ADA Kelly Flower, CBI seeks this week to answer the question what is black, white, and red all over. There’s a lot of answers to that riddle but this week it’s Xander Harrington, murdered in formal wear at his own party.

Stabbed in his office with a letter opener, he bled out for a good twenty minutes before succumbing, which is officially impressive. Nothing else is amiss in the office, except a file of a confidential business sort is missing. This file contained the names of employees who were to be laid off on Monday. One of the attending reporters even has blood on the bottom of her shoes. Case solved in time for everyone to stop at Dunkin’ Donuts before quitting time.

Community – Recap & Review – The Art of Discourse

The Art of Discourse

Original Air Date: Apr 29, 2010

When you think of the greatest college film of all time what do you come up with? Rodney Dangerfield’s Back to School? Accepted with Jonah Hill? Will Ferrell in Old School? For my money, I’m saying you can’t go wrong with Belushi in Animal House, and clearly Abed and I (or at least someone Community related) feels the same way.

The entire episode is set to be an homage to the above mentioned movie, so let’s hope we don’t see Pierce in a toga, though I wouldn’t say no to Jeff. Ahem.

So Long Stratford Sisters … “10 Things” Canceled

From Zap2It:

10 Things I Hate About You, one of ABC Family’s Monday night lineup, has fallen.

The comedy that’s a modern take on Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” set in high school has been canceled, according to a tweet by executive producer/writer Carter Covington.

“Sad news ABCFamily canceled the show 😦 …Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic!” he posted to his Twitter account Thursday (April 29).

A rep for the show confirmed with Zap2it.

Madonna Helps Put Glee At No. 1

madonna is number 1

Here’s something I know fellow Gleeks can sing about: E! News reports Glee: The Music -The Power of Madonna has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart after selling 98,000 copies. This news comes after the much hyped (and entertaining) Power of Madonna episode helped Glee score its highest audience to date with 13.6 million viewers.

I was worried that the Madonna episode wouldn’t live up to the hype (having been disappointed by many shows in the past when they tried something like this) but I can honestly say that the results were way better than expected. What do you think? Will you join me in line to buy Glee: The Music-The Power of Madonna? Or do you already have your copy?

Faye O – Senior Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

Last night’s Modern Family was another perfect addition to a long-running streak of classic, hilarious episodes.

Cameron is a huge teddy bear of love and emotion, Phil is the dad that I wish I had (but trust me, I love the dad I already have), and Jay is the type of guy you want around to keep you laughing. This family has become part of my family’s family, and it’s no question as to why.

Cougar Town – Recap & Review – Letting You Go

Well it’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen Jules and the gang. Grayson is single now but that really won’t matter for a while because it’s only season one. This week, Travis gets in to college (thus destroying Jules’ world) and Smith comes home from law school. These two events guarantee hilarity. Or at least, I hope they do.

Mythbusters – Recap & Review – No Pain, No Gain

No Pain, No Gain

Original Air Date: Apr 28, 2010

Aeon Cole – TwoCents Reviewer
aeon@thetwocentscorp.com

I remember a few months back on Twitter, the Mythbusters put out a call for people to participate in an experiment. They asked for a variety of very specific types of people but didn’t give any specifics publicly.

Well, tonight we find out what that was all about. Are certain types of people more tolerant to pain than other types? I have to admit that watching the promo for this episode was painful.
