Glee Debate Club – “Theatricality”

Welcome to another meeting of the McKinley Debate Club! We’re in our seventh session and things sure are getting interesting in the hallways of McKinley High as we close in on the end of the school year.

Tonight, your favorite fan sites will discuss some intense subjects such as Kurt and Finn as roommates, Rachel confronting Shelby, Tina finding her identity, Puck wanting to take part in his daughter’s life and Glee going Gaga! As always, you are more than welcome to join in on the debate! And remember to come back and read TheClubGlee’s Recap & Review of the entire episode!

[Last updated Wednesday, May 25, 2010 2:15 AM EST]

TheClubGlee: Farrah
Favorite Moment(s): 1) Rachel realizing Shelby was her mother; 2) Burt standing up for Kurt against Finn; 3) Puck finally realizing the intensity of having a child and 4) Finn in the red rubber dress. However, my mom says it was Idina singing “Funny Girl.”
Favorite Quote(s): “We live in Ohio, not New York… or some other city where people eat vegetables that aren’t fried.” – Finn and Burt’s entire speech. When I find it, it’s getting put right here!
Overall Episode Grade: A+ (Each week is better than the previous one it seems…)

Parenthood – Recap & Review – Lost and Found

Parenthood
Lost and Found

Original Air Date: May 25, 2010

Brittany D. – Staff Writer
brittany@thetwocentscorp.com

This is our last episode before the summer hiatus, and it seems like we have a lot of ground to cover before the end of the first season. Namely the fact that Camille and Zeek’s marriage seems to be over. They’ve each lost trust in each other, but can they find it again? Will they be able to regain that?

And what about the Haddie/Steve/Amber triangle? That needs to get resolved, and by the replies you all left last week, it’s Haddie and Kristina who have some growing to do. Let’s see if anyone takes steps to fix what’s been broken, or if we’re left on a cliff hanger.

Chuck Vs. The Subway/Chuck Vs. The Ring: Part II

These two-hour episodes are so “chuck” full of stuff. I’m going to do a quick recap where I settle on the highlights and commentary rather than trying to recap everything that happened in the season finale. If you didn’t watch the show (and I’m guessing most of you didn’t since it only got a 1.8 share – lowest ratings of the season) I suggest you download it from iTunes or watch it on NBC.com.

The Big Bang Theory
The Lunar Excitation

Original Air Date: May 24, 2010

Theresa – Staff Writer
theresa@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s the third season finale, and Dr. Sheldon Cooper is going on a real live date. It’s like a freakish experiment – let’s watch!

We start off with the boys conducting a lunar ranging experiment on the roof. Don’t ask me what that is – something about bouncing lasers off the moon. While Raj is holding up the experiment by using the telescope to watch The Good Wife,  Leonard decides he’s going to pursue this whole friendship thing and ask Penny to come up and join them.

How I Met Your Mother
Doppelgangers

Original Air Date: May 24, 2010

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

Remember when Lily and Marshall made a deal to have a baby when they found Barney’s doppelganger? Well what would happen if they really did? Are they ready for that?

What about the rest of the gang … will Ted find a woman before the end of the season? And what is this dream job that Robin gets offered? Is Don even still around? And if so, what will happen with them? It all gets answered in the hilarious season finale of one of the bestest shows ever!

Law & Order – Recap & Review – Rubber Room (Series Finale)

Law & Order
Rubber Room (Series Finale)

Original Air Date: May 24, 2010

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyfrederick@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s the series finale of a show that premiered when I was four. After twenty seasons, Law & Order is signing off – and so abruptly this episode was still promoted as a season finale.

There isn’t even an Official Dead Body, just parents snooping around on their kid’s computer that lead us to a blogger who likes underage girls and blowing up large chunks of New York.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – The Finals (Week 10)

Dancing with the Stars
The Finals

Original Air Date: May 24, 2010

JD – Associate Staff Writer
jd@thetwocentscorp.com

So it’s the finals already! It seems like it only just started! This is JD, filling in for Annette on these last two episodes, but try not to hold that against me.

The big night is tonight, when we find out who gets to take home the mirror ball trophy, but last night was the last time that America got to vote and have their say in who wins the competition. Do you think your couple will win?

Last night we had a redemption round, where the judges picked dances the couples fell short on earlier in the season to give them a chance to get it right this time. Erin and Maks got the samba, Evan and Anna did the Viennese waltz, and Nicole and Derek (as could have been expected) got the rumba. After those dances, there was the fan favorite freestyle round, where both of our front runners stumbled, and the underdogs gave us something unexpected.

My Two Cents – Goodbye Gary

When I posted my last Gary Unmarried Recap & Review, I gave a short goodbye to one of my favorite shows in hopes that it would be picked up for next season. Unfortunately, it was not and I am utterly heartbroken. So what do I do when I’m heartbroken over my TV shows? I come here and vent about it.

I can’t believe there won’t be any more Gary Unmarried. I can’t believe we’ll never know if he stays married to Allison or chooses to start over with Sasha. We’ll never know what kind of antics Tommy will get into and what kind of road Louise will travel down. Will she stay sweet and innocent or start partying it up?

And what about Uncle Mitch? And Curtis? And the radio station? AH. So many things I will miss on Wednesday nights.

CSI: Miami – Recap & Review – All Fall Down

CSI: Miami
All Fall Down

Original Air Date: May 24, 2010

Aeon Cole – TwoCents Reviewer
aeon@thetwocentscorp.com

In this cliffhanger season finale of CSI: Miami the team takes on a serial killer who is taunting them with clues to the identity of his victims. The longer it takes them to figure out the clues, the higher the death toll will be.

This episode is a bit of a departure from what Miami has become. It harks back to the sort of stories that the show used to tackle in their first season, less spectacular but a better story.

Alright, 24. You’ve provided us with 194 hours of dramatic, action-packed entertainment. You’ve made us cheer, cry, swear at the TV a lot and even laugh a little. So here’s to hoping that since FOX decided to pull the plug on you (so they can go make their big-screen, not even real time version, no less), they give you the proper sendoff you deserve…and not more of the middling mess this last season has become. Especially since you’re making me miss Chuck. (But it is sweet that you open with a message from our hero himself thanking the fans. You didn’t have to do that, but you did, and we appreciate it.)

I’m hoping that the “events occur in real time” placard is just a nostalgic throwback to the pilot episode. Really, if you haven’t figured that this show is real-time by now, where have you been?
