For whatever talent the two finalists lacked compared to previous winners and runner ups, the concert that was the S9 finale was certainly worth tuning in to. And knowing that tween girls chose the winner made me glad there was far greater talent on the stage to cushion the results.

Did you hear how many times that Ryan noted that there were DISCOUNTED tickets available for this summer’s Idol tour? That says a lot, doesn’t it?

Glee – Recap & Review – Theatricality

Glee
Theatricality

Original Air Date: May 25, 2010

Last week, Glee got pretty intense. It was revealed to us that Shelby was Rachel’s mother and she wanted to know her daughter and Jesse was helping Shelby get to her (through a tape with an amazing rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream”). I sighed a sigh of relief knowing Jesse had good intentions instead of bad (and hoping it stays that way). Elsewhere, Artie was sad over realizing he’d never dance, Neil Patrick Harris was an amazing guest star and everyone else was kind of in the background.

But this week, Glee would go to a whole new level of drama with Finn and his mom moving in with Burt and Kurt and Puck realizing what he really wants out of his relationship with Quinn and the baby. The Shelby/Rachel drama intensifies and there’s a Lady Gaga assignment to help the Gleeks find their identity.

It’s epic.

Wow, did we get a huge does of Kalinda in this episode or what? But even with everything we watched her do, we still don’t know much more about her.

Obviously, this is just the way the producers like it.

Farewell Art Linkletter

linkletter

From the TodayShow.com:

“Art Linkletter, who as the gently mischievous host of TV’s “People Are Funny” and “House Party” in the 1950s and ’60s delighted viewers with his ability to get kids — and grownups — to say the darndest things on national television, died Wednesday. He was 97… Linkletter was known on TV for his funny interviews with children and ordinary folks. He also collected their comments in a number of best-selling books.”

Justified – Recap & Review – Veterans

Since the track record has been so good for shows on the FX network, it’s always a disappointment to see an episode of any show that’s disappointing or anticlimactic.

While this week’s Justified has some very good moments, the ending kind of leaves you with a shrug. It’s kind of like watching your favorite baseball player strike out to end a game where he had two home runs.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – The Finals: Results

Dancing with the Stars
The Finals: Results

Original Air Date: May 25, 2010

JD – Associate Staff Writer

It’s been ten weeks of dance, dance, dance, and all but three stars have been eliminated. Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek, and Nicole Scherzinger made it all the way to last night’s final show, and only one of them got to take home that mirror ball trophy. But before we got to find out who, all the stars from this season came back to dance one last time, and we got everything from sexy to bizarre out of those performances.

We also got to see the final competition between the ballroom groups from Purdue University and Utah Valley University, but let’s face it, the college teams and the eliminated stars aren’t what we really tuned in for. We wanted to see who won, who took second, and who fell just barely too short of sparkly trophy glory. Did your favorite couple win? Read on to find out.

Can you believe that Wednesday night is the finale of Season 9? And after tonight’s final performance show, it’s not as clear cut as you’d think on who will win.

For the past three weeks, the judges have been heaping praise on Lee Dewyze, as if he were the second coming of David Cook. And Ellen summed up their devotion well tonight: “I felt you went off [key] a couple of times, but I don’t care about that.” Ok… as a potential album buyer, I do care.
