Life on Mars, the US version, didn’t live too long. ABC shuffled the sci-fi cop drama from night to night; following Grey’s and then Lost didn’t help. The program just never found the right time or the right audience. So, like many shows, it became a casualty of ratings.

Wrapping up their one season with 17 episodes, some of the best songs of the 70s and a finale that left you going “Wait, what?” People familiar with the original UK version often cite the American version as having “less tea and more ass kicking.” Really can’t go wrong with a show like that. Come along Spaceman, we’ll cover the important points of Life on Mars. Starting with the pilot.

Mark Wahlberg Plans Entourage Movie

will you see the entourage movie?

Your browser may not support display of this image. Entourage executive producer Mark Wahlberg told MTV News this past weekend that he remains intent on bringing the HBO comedy series to theatres.

“I am more focused on making that movie than my own films,” said Wahlberg on the red carpet Sunday for the MTV Movie Awards. “I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they’ve always wanted more,” he added.

Glee – Recap & Review – Journey

Glee
Journey

Well we made it. It’s the season finale of Glee. It feels like it’s taken us forever to get here, but we made it. I had a few thoughts and expectations coming in to this episode: New Directions would win Regionals, Shelby would adopt Quinn’s baby after she went into labor mid-Regionals, Will would finally get Emma back, someone would punch Jesse St. James (or I would run through my TV and do it myself…) and of course, per the previews, Rachel and Finn would get back together.

More than anything else, I was expecting amazing music (and since I pre-ordered my “Journey to Regionals” soundtrack on iTunes on Monday night, I knew I would get that!). A Journey medley would satisfy that need for sure. Was I right in any of my predictions?

Hell’s Kitchen – Recap & Review – 15 Chefs Compete

I’m not sure why I bother watching this show. It’s the same thing every week. Someone’s a donkey, someone messes up, Chef yells, food gets thrown around, someone gets kicked out, customers complain, yadda yadda. And the winner? Usually never heard from again. I live in Vegas, where two of the restaurants are, and they are not big deals. In fact, one is now running $8 specials to get you in the door.

So why do we watch? Because it’s reality television, it’s the summer and people are entertaining. And seriously, how hard is it to cook an egg? We’re about to find out!

The Mighty Boosh – Summer DVD Review – Killeroo

It’s back to the slow TV season again, and that means it’s time to turn our reviewing prowess on some of our favorite shows of the past. This summer, I intend to take you on “a journey through time and space, to the world of the Mighty Boosh”, as the Boosh’s intro says. It’s a world that’s taught me many lessons, like that yeti have a knack for turning people into hippies, that you should never trust an animal with syringes for fingers, and most importantly, that it’s impossible to be unhappy in a poncho.

Justified – Recap & Review – Bulletville

It’s my pleasure to take over for Tom in recapping the season finale of Justified. I find myself uniquely qualified since I’ve sat through two Timothy Olyphant films today, which counts for nothing but makes me feel smarter.

When last we left, Raylan’s dad was still being a complete idiot, Ava was going to spend the rest of her life clutching a shotgun, and Raylan and Winona had a completely out of character random fling. Not to mention Boyd literally blew up his dad’s meth shipment. In other words, things are awkward all around Harlan. Judging by the title of this episode, I doubt everyone is going to hug and make up.

Day Break – Summer DVD Review – Pilot

Day Break
Pilot

Original Air Date: Nov 15, 2006

brittanyw@thetwocentscorp.com

I don’t know where I was when Day Break was running on ABC, but I’d like to go back in time myself and smack myself upside the head, because I have no idea why I didn’t watch it. It has tons of stuff to love: a first-rate cast, half the production team from The X-Files, and a uniquely thundering narrative about an LAPD cop framed for murder who is forced to relive the same day until he figures it all out. It may have only lasted 13 episodes – 7 of which never even aired – but darn if it isn’t good popcorn television.

Detective Brett Hopper (played by the underused Taye Diggs) already has a complicated life before all this starts. Hopper’s been seeing Rita Shelten (Moon Bloodgood, who actually makes me not hate her after a smarmy stint on Burn Notice and a weak turn on Human Target), an ER nurse who just so happens to be the ex-wife of Hopper’s own ex-partner, Chad Shelten (Chuck’s Adam Baldwin, who is having way too much fun being the proverbial pain in the neck).

John Stamos to Guest Star on Glee Next Season

stamos is now a gleek!

When Emma mentioned she was dating her dentist, I sure didn’t picture this:

E! Online confirms that John Stamos is indeed signed on for Glee’s second season. Although the exact number of episodes is unknown at this time, Stamos will recur as a love interest for Emma, which will also automatically make him a rival for Will.

Although audiences might be more familiar with Stamos from his television roles (Full House, ER) he is no stranger to musicals, having starred on Broadway in plays such as Bye Bye Birdie.

My Two Cents: I smell another Dream On-type duel for Will and Uncle Jesse. I wonder if it will be as good though.

What do you think? Are you Glee-ful to see John Stamos on Glee? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
