Brett Hopper is on his third or fourth “day” by now, and really, it’s not working out well for him. When last we left him, he and his girlfriend Rita Shelten were fleeing Los Angeles only to be ambushed by a couple of cars worth of Home Depot Bad Guys. That’s exactly where we pick up at the beginning of our second episode, which poses the question: would it be simpler – or even possible – for Hopper and Rita to simply run from the conspiracy that’s threatening to destroy their lives?

Obviously not.

Michael Weatherly Signs Multi-Year Deal With NCIS

weatherly is sticking around

Seven down, one more to go.

TvGuide reports that Michael Weatherly, who plays Special Agent Tony DiNozzo, has signed a multi-year deal to continue on NCIS. The specifics of that deal have not been reported.

Weatherly joins cast mates Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum in the list of recent renewals, while Sean Murray remains in negotiations. Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals signed for next season.

My Two Cents: Come on McGee, you don’t wanna be left out of the group now, do you? The suspense has been killing me, however it has eased a bit now that Weatherly has signed.

What do you think? Are you glad to see Weatherly reach a deal?

We open in a bar. A bar with an exotic belly dancer. Yet somehow we are expected to focus on Captain Mal, Zoe and Jayne in a booth. Jayne watching Zoe kick her Captain’s ass at a board game. Very entertaining until one drunken guy starts mouthing off in support of the Alliance, and laughing at the defeat of the Independents. The Browncoats. The side Mal and Zoe fought on. Big mistake!

It all starts with a damaged vending machine. That leads Jack and Dan to a high-class escort ring and a psychotic (not to mention badly bleached) pimp. It’s amazing how one thing rolls into another. And it’s not Dan’s best day either – he has a cold, which makes him even more insufferable.

Jack and Dan go back to the hotel to talk to their witness, only to literally to see him fall to his death off the rooftop. The pimp has gotten to him first. They head upstairs to try and confront him. Dan can’t manage to kick the stairwell door open, but Jack can open it. Unfortunately, by then the bad guys are gone.

Some kind of crazy car with tiny little headlights and slits in otherwise obscured windows cruises along.  It’s gray and kind of looks like a tank so I hereby dub it “Tankmobile”.  I wonder how they can even see to drive this thing. In a different car, an agent from the FBI is escorting a key witness to a safe location when the Tankmobile runs them off the road and opens fire.  The agent is shot and down and the witness gal takes off on foot.

Imagine getting ready to snuggle in your softest, prettiest blanket and discovering that it’s scratchy, faded and smelled different? Not a pleasant picture.

But that was the kind of picture that greeted fans of HGTV’s Design Star at the beginning of Season 5. Right away, you can’t help noticing the biggest change of all. Where is Clive??? Clive Pearse has been the host since the show’s debut and his sly humor, sympathetic tone and polished demeanor have made the show so much fun to watch.

Quantum Leap – Summer DVD Review – Star Crossed

Original Air Date: Mar 31, 1989

If you had the chance to set right a wrong in your own past, even if it meant breaking the rules, would you do it? What if that “wrong” was possibly saving the love of your life, the love that left you standing at the altar? That’s the question that Dr. Sam Beckett must answer in Star Crossed, the first regular episode of the series after the pilot.

Sam starts his 3rd leap standing at the front of a classroom full of young ladies, obviously of college age, in the middle of a lecture. Clearly out of his element and struggling to figure out where he is, Sam is quickly rescued by the bell, but not before discovering that several of the girls in the class appear to be infatuated with him based on their comments.

Ricky Gervais Coming to Curb Your Enthusiasm

gervaise to curb

Ricky Gervais will be making an appearance on the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, according to Variety.

The British comedian will appear as himself in the eighth episode of the upcoming season. When discussing the role, Gervais called it “an honor” to be a part of the show, but provided no details about the storyline.

The HBO comedy will be entering its eighth season next year, making it the longest-running scripted series in the network’s history. Shooting for the show will begin later this summer.

This guest role will be added to the growing list of appearances on HBO by Gervais that started with the sitcom Extras. This was followed by the broadcast of his own standup special, and the animated The Ricky Gervais Show, which was recently renewed for a second season by the cable net. HBO is also reportedly interested in his new series Life’s Too Short whose pilot was just commissioned by the BBC.

My Two Cents: I’m a big Curb fan and I enjoy Gervais’ style of comedy so this definitely comes as a welcome surprise, especially since Larry David and Ricky Gervais had good chemistry when the appeared together on The Marriage Ref.

Are you excited to see Ricky Gervais appear on Curb Your Enthusiasm?
