So You Think You Can Dance
1 of 10 Voted Off

Original Air Date: Jun 24, 2010

Okay, another dancer gets voted off. It takes an hour to tell us who’s in the bottom three, and then drag out who’s actually leaving. But we love it don’t we?

The group number tonight is a little jazz, a little contemporary, a little hip hop, and the girls do this crazy flippy thing that looks like it would crack your back in six places. In fact there are a lot of crazy body twisting movies. Everyone looks great though, in sync and hitting their tricks. It’s a really good number after I got over the initial dislike of the costumes and lighting (not that those are important at all.) I’m not at all surprised to discover that it’s a crazy Sonya routine, but I liked it a lot.

The Mighty Boosh – Summer DVD Review – Tundra

The Mighty Boosh
Tundra

Ahh, Tundra. This was the original pilot that was filmed in front of a live audience, which wound up not really working out. When they went to filming without an audience (which I think was the far better choice), the pilot became Killeroo, which was a great episode, but this one has a special place in my heart. I think Tundra is easily in my top three episodes of the whole series, and has one of my favorite songs in it. I guess all of that is to say that I love this episode. So lets get down to the recapping and reviewing.

In Plain Sight – Recap & Review – WitSec Stepmother

WitSec Stepmother

Original Air Date: Jun 23, 2010

People annoy Mary. That’s a given. The vast majority of the time this annoyance is only slightly justified. Mary is surly and opinionated, she just doesn’t warm up to people quickly. This week her annoyance is more than understandable. The only thing worse than a bratty teenage girl? Her parents.

Four months ago, in Hartford, Connecticut, Sabrina stopped into a jewelry store to find a birthday present for her mother. While there, a group of gunmen come in and hold the place up. A few days later Mary and Marshall are sitting in her living room. Sabrina, unbeknownst to her mother, has agreed to testify. This of course means that they have to go into witness protection. Her recently separated parents aren’t thrilled about the arrangement, but her father is willing to go into the program. Cindy, the mother, is not. She can’t leave her foundation and someone is going to have to pay for Sabrina’s college in a few years. Father and daughter go to Albuquerque, setting up a monthly visit for Sabrina and Cindy.

Fox Scraps Plans for a Glee Reality Series

photo: fox

Breaking Glee news for all you Gleeks out there! As reported by Vulture, Fox has decided to nix plans to produce a reality competition which would have followed a group of unknowns as they vied for a spot on the hugely popular series.

The network unveiled the untitled project back in January, when interested participants were asked to submit audition videos via Myspace.

Those selected would have been a part of an American Idol-like competition, where contestants vied for one of three roles on the show, leading up to the sophomore season of the successful series.

Per Brittany’s request I will do more recapping in these future installments. I have to selfishly admit that I’m enjoying watching them so much that I forget that I’m supposed to be writing about them! But I will try to be better. So here we go, into two fantastic episodes!

The Long Lead Story: Tonight we see Matt eat it. With the reporter from Vanity Fair (played by Christine Lahti) hovering over Matt, he has less than 24 hours to finish writing the show and he needs another 15 minutes of material, which is a mammoth task. Continue reading

The rest of season two had so much go on I wish I could have recapped every episode. Season two was the season that brought us Richard and Monica, Joey and Chandler’s comfy recliners, Joey moving out (and crazy Eddie moving in!), Ross’ son growing up before our eyes (and freaking Rachel out), the wedding of Rachel’s ex-fiance to her former best friend and the best of all, the introduction of Janice!

Season three picked up with Monica trying to get over her breakup with Richard, Phoebe meeting her brother (again), more Janice (she never leaves), and where we are now – The One With The Flashback.

So You Think You Can Dance – Recap & Review – Top 10 Perform

So You Think You Can Dance
Top Ten Perform

You might be thinking, “That Rachel, she’s crazy, she has the title of show as ‘Top 10 Perform’ two weeks in a row.” Well, I’m not crazy, that’s what the show has been called, for two weeks, according the television gods. Even though last week it was 11, and this week it really is 10. Last week we said goodbye to Alexie. She was the oldest contestant, and had tried out for a bunch of seasons. To be cut first must be a blow, but I don’t think we’re going to miss her.

Hell’s Kitchen – Recap & Review – 12 Chefs Compete Again/11 Chefs Compete

12 Chefs Compete Again/11 Chefs Compete

Original Air Date: Jun 22, 2010

Hell’s Kitchen is getting out of control. For one, the two people who should have left got spared and were switched to the opposite teams. Secondly, “celebrity night” barely showed the celebrities. And third, episodes are now two hours long to make room for Gordon Ramsay’s new show, MasterChef.

Therefore, there will now be a new quick, easy-to-read format for these reviews. Hope you enjoy!

Things to Do in New York When You Think You’re Dead

This is an episode of questions. Is Sam alive? Is Sam dead? Is Sam in a coma? Very little is actually answered about these questions, but we do get a few hints. One thing is clear, a child is dead and 1973 New York City is on the brink of rioting.

The Black Liberation Alliance is out for justice and their leader, Brother Love, is encouraging violent actions. Are you ready to groove?

Things aren’t looking good for Detective Brett Hopper. Not only does he learn in this episode that someone he knows may have helped frame him for murder, but by this point his show has already lost almost half its original audience.

It’s a shame, because his story keeps blasting along.
