This is the first episode of the second season. It begins eight days after President Santiago’s death and five days after Commander Sinclair is recalled to Earth.

The changes that began in Chrysalis continue and intensify in this episode. In fact the original title of the episode was Chrysalis II as it was meant to be a continuation of Chrysalis.

It’s another two-hour Leverage event – and it begins with an episode in which Richard Chamberlain (yes, that Richard Chamberlain) plays Parker’s old mentor, getting the crew mixed up in something involving genetically engineered wheat and a planned famine.

If that sounds weird, it is.

Vincent Van Gogh is nuts. Historically, we all know this. Anyone who cuts off their own ear is nuts. Except this is Doctor Who so not only is he nuts, but he’s seeing monsters too. The monsters are real, of course, and like to eat people and/or Time Lords, whichever comes first.

The Doctor goes off in pursuit of the monster, and makes the place look like Godzilla ate Tokyo in trying to run away from it. He’s also got to keep Van Gogh, who fancies himself a monster hunter, from getting eaten and therefore messing up history as we know it. Yep, it’s another typical episode of Doctor Who.

Charmed – Summer DVD Review – Is There a Woogy in the House?

Is There a Woogy in the House?

In the grand scheme of things, when thinking back on Charmed, over-all it wasn’t a ‘scary’ show. There weren’t any aspects of it that truly terrified me or made it hard to get through an episode. But, one thing that the show could do was get to me through things that scared me in real life. Things like basements. And the dark.

Let’s not make rash judgments – I’m not afraid of the dark, just of what could be lurking in the dark, and it seems that one Phoebe Halliwell shares that sentiment with me. And while I can’t blame my fear on anything, as we’re about to see, Phoebe certainly can.

“This whole day has been one long thing that makes no sense.” – Jordan Catalano

Bored in class, Angela is remembering the three times she’s been kissed: a camp counselor who had a girlfriend, an usher at a wedding who lost a bet, and a lifeguard who was probably performing CPR. She’d like the next kiss to come from Jordan Catalano, but every time he passes by, she can barely function. Rayanne tells her that “people throwing themselves at people is, like, the basis of civilization” and she has to make a move. But since she won’t, Rayanne does it for her: she asks Jordan to get a fake ID for Angela. Angela, she says, can’t ask because she’s from France and forgets English sometimes.

Murphy’s Law, anything that can go wrong, probably will go wrong. This seems to be the law dictating every favor Sam comes to Michael with. This time a simple consultation for friends of Sam’s turns into a full-scale hostage situation at a bank. With Michael and Sam as the hostage takers.

We begin where we left off last week. Jesse is down in the Bahamas to find information about the John Doe that washed up last week. Fi has gone with him. The two are waiting at a beachside bar for Ty, a man who works at the morgue.

This season so far on Royal Pains: Hank and Evan Larson are back for season two. Their father, who stole all their money, is back in town to pay them back. He is played by Henry Winkler, the Fonz himself. It turns out that he also walked out on the boys and their mother when they were little. Evan has long forgiven him, but Hank refuses to.

The brothers both call their father, Eddie R. He ends up dating one of Hank’s most infamous patient, Ms. Newburg (played by the lovely Ms. Newburg (played by the lovely Christine Ebersole). Now we’re all caught up and can move on to this week’s episode.

Anne – TwoCents Reviewer

After seeing last week’s episode and the ratings that resulted, I really hoped the show would continue to hold up it’s quality. It did even better. Oftentimes shows will change dramatically between their pilots and their second showings. But my ladies avoided that fate and improved as they left the gate.

I love the simple opening theme of the show. It’s very brief and it reminds me of the 80’s. The episode picked up the next morning after the pilot.
