Time: 8:00 PM ET
TwoCents Reviewer: Theresa
Starring: Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, and Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrapali

Where We Left Off: Penny and Leonard had broken up, and it was OK for Penny to want a casual encounter, but not Leonard. Howard and Raj made Sheldon an online dating profile, and forced him to meet the one match the site found (guest star Mayim Bialik), which didn’t go as badly as expected. We also left off on a Monday, so don’t forget that Big Bang Theory is moving to Thursdays this season!

No Ordinary Family *NEW*
Premiere Date: September 28
Time: 8:00 PM ET
TwoCents Reviewer: Ryan
Starring: Michael Chiklis as police scientist Jim Powell; Julie Benz as scientist Stephanie Powell; Kay Panabaker as teenager Daphne Powell; Jimmy Bennett as teenager JJ Powell; Tate Donovan as Mitch McCutcheon; Romany Malco as George St. Cloud; Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews; Christina Chang as Det. Yvonne Cho; Stephen Collins as Dr. Dayton King; Josh Stewart as Watcher
Program Description: It’s like one of those old “Good News! Bad News!” stories. Bad news! The Powell family is experiencing some turbulence! Good news! They decide that a trip to South America will cure what ails them! Bad news! Their plane crashes! Good news! They each gain a super power! Bad news! It might tear the family apart! Good news! It stars Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz! Bad news! (of sorts!) Greg Berlanti is in charge and three of his last four shows were cancelled before their time! Good news! It’s been getting great buzz out of Comic-Con and from TV critics! Bad news! I’m out of exclamation marks!
What We Can Expect: It’s an accomplished cast and Greg Berlanti has superhero know-how (he wouldn’t be working on the Green Lantern movies if he didn’t). Berlanti is emphasizing that this is as much a family drama as it is about having super-speed or mental telepathy.

2010 Fall Preview Guide – ABC Sundays

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – We don’t know about you, but it is what’s lurking behind that big bus which keeps us absolutely riveted from week-to-week: a house pimped out to the extreme. It’s extremely uplifting, as the renovated home always belongs to a deserving family. It’s extreme transformation. And it’s extremely community-oriented.

You’ll see dingy kitchens get completely tricked out, spa-inspired bathrooms built where icky ones once were, and olympic-sized swimming pools installed in what were once shabby overgrown yards. It’s stuff we know you’d want at your own pad—and then some. And Ty and his crew do it from the ground up, adding five-star luxuries and the occasional theme park attraction. Premieres 9/26 at 8:00 PM ET.

The Simpsons
Premiere Date: September 26
Time: 8:00 PM ET
TwoCents Reviewer: Arthur Aringdale
Starring: Dan Castellaneta as Home Simpson, Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson, Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson, Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson, and Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria as most of Springfield
Program Description: The Simpsons started in 1989 chronicling the lives of the title family: lovable oaf Homer, his overworked and underappreciated wife Marge, and their children Bart (the troublemaker) Lisa (a genius) and baby Maggie. It has since branched out and become a sprawling portrait of a small town and a vital satire of every aspect of modern life.
Where We Left Off: After a mild creative slump, The Simpsons re-energized last year and turned in a twenty-first season with several episodes that seem to promise a return to form for the show. This year is the first in many in which The Simpsons has much of shot at a Emmy, and hopes are high the streak of quality will carry on.
