We learn a lot about Ria Torres in this episode. I didn’t even know she had a sister. Loker is scarce on this episode as well. Most we see of him is sitting at the computer monitor or complaining when people were late for work. He’s still a little shaky after the car-bomb a few weeks ago.

A group of people dressed in black are robbing a house and end up accidentally killing a man. We see one of the people specifically steal a red and diamond jeweled Faberge egg. Then the show jumps ahead a few months and we are in a juvenile hall. A girl gives the egg to another girl and tells her to protect it and never tell anyone. Then we jump to Lightman, who is teaching Emily to drive. She is practicing parallel parking, which is hard enough without your dad trying to make you nervous! She is doing fine until Cal yelled and she backed into a fire hydrant.

A Train Of Thought

Some thugs are running around in a train yard and then we focus in on Bill tied to a chair being yelled at by a girl in a beret. She’s got a funny accent and we cut back to the thugs in the train yard. Then we cut to a control room. I’m confused already. Also a little nauseated from all the flipping back and forth.

Back to Bill, the gal slaps him because Bills a misogynist. She wants to know where his partner is and Bill calls Ralph in. Back to the control room one of the guys tries to tell some corny joke and we’re back to the room with Bill where Ralph busts in through the window. Then there’s shooting and Ralph bends a gun in half and then the girl faints. What the heck is going on?!

Who wants to rob a bank?

The Dallas Police Department is on high alert for a major bank heist in the area in the next three days. Their lead suspect is Homer Simpson – by which I mean he’s played by Dan Castellaneta, who voices Springfield’s favorite dad. Of course, you know it can’t be as simple as that, right?

Jack and Dan are dispatched to investigate stolen dry cleaning and we find out through flashback that there was an expert crew of thieves cutting their way through the wall. It seems like a lot of work for not much reward. They get shot at again while investigating a local construction site for a possible perp. This is all in the teaser.

Damages Saved by DirecTV

patty hewes lives on

EW’s Michael Ausiello is reporting that Damages has been picked up by DirecTV for another two seasons after it was canceled by FX.

This deal will be different than the one with Friday Night Lights since Damages will only be broadcast on DirecTV and not FX. FNL is broadcast first by DirecTV, and then later on NBC.

The next two seasons will consist of ten episodes each, with the next season premiering in late 2011 at the earliest. Most of the cast is expected to return, including stars Glenn Close and Rose Byrne.

My Two Cents: Good news for the show’s fans, but it also means you must subscribe to DirecTV in order to see it.

Did Damages deserve to be saved?

Design Star – Recap & Review – Designs Fit for Heroes

The contestants have spent the past three weeks creating designs based on flowers, music and other esoteric things – so who can blame them if they forget about real design for real people? The judges can, that’s who!

Thank goodness the producers gave the contestants a real challenge this week — to design a room in a firehouse where the firefighters can relax, exercise and perhaps go over training strategies. And — it’s a miracle!— the producers even decided to change up the teams. Finally.

I have to say that at first I thought the teams had been stacked (remember the old days when a paint can determined teams and captains?). The Blue Team included Alex, Michael, Casey and Emily. The Red Team boasted frontrunners Nina and Courtland as well as Stacey and Tom. Each team had to come up with a team design, as well as a signature element from each contestant.

What a cluttered, campy, fun episode! A lot happens in tonight’s installment, as we hop back and forth from Bon Temps to Jackson. Debbie Pelt proves herself a trashy trainwreck tour de force, Eric randomly remembers a blood-feud, Sookie becomes magical (again), Lafayette gets a date with Jesus, and Tara receives the worst. Proposal. Ever.

Franklin and Tara

Poor Tara. Girl cannot get a break. She starts the episode off clothed in a nightie from the reject closet of “Little House on the Prairie” and being sniffed by Theo who calls her a “dusky little blood beast” and claims she clashes with the décor.

I have to admit … I’m really enjoying this whole Vince-living-on-the-edge/do-whatever-he-wants story that’s going on. But we all know eventually it’s going to come crashing down around him. In the meantime, we also get to watch Ari get more power than he can handle (is that possible?), Drama find a job, Turtle lose his and E stuck in the middle of everyone’s business.

Let’s not forget, E’s “partner” Scott is now taking over the role of Vince’s buddy and he’s not happy (although I’ll take more eye candy, thank you!). Should be fun to watch E win back his client – and friend.

Leverage – Recap & Review – The Studio Job

Team Leverage gets to take on a corrupt record label. We all know this is right up Eliot Spencer’s alley, because Eliot Spencer is played by Christian Kane, who has his own band. It only gets better from there.

Hardison gives the usual expository briefing about corrupt label CEO Mitchell Kirkwood, who dresses like he’s in his own really bad country music video (it’s horribly, horribly bad…Randy Disher Project bad) and likes to steal people’s music and their money at the same time. Going to put him in his place requires a little trip to Memphis and a cheap bar. I dislike this guy already and he’s been on screen for a minute. The setting, however, is an excuse for Tim Hutton to break out the cowboy hat from last season again. While he does that, Parker steals stuff to get Hardison into the sound booth. Is this coming together yet? Then Eliot walks in the door…with a case of stage fright no less. He’s the bait, or namely his impending performance is.

This is the first episode of season three. I think season three is my favorite season. This season brings the Shadow war, a split from Earth, the return of Sinclair, Sheridan’s trip to Za’ha’dum, the answers to almost all of the questions raised in the first two seasons, and a few surprises. This episode sets the stage for all of it.

While an Earth official investigates the mystery ship encountered by Lt. Keffer in hyperspace, Londo attempts to sever his ties with Morden. Sheridan receives a new tool in the fight against the Shadows.

Grayson requests Jane as second chair on a case involving a musical act, Confetti. She was hoping for J.Lo, but ok, since it’s Grayson. Kim and Parker are still trying to keep their secret, which is hard with Fred shouting conspicuous things. And Fred is still hopelessly trying to learn about women from, um, Animal Planet.
