This week’s episode centered around a long-time Secret Stash customer’s comics auction. Early in the episode the customer explains to Walt that he’s got some very expensive medical bills and needs to sell the comics collection he’s been building over his entire lifetime.

Walt, Ming and Mike jump to his aid and go through his entire collection. What he originally described as “maybe 25 boxes” turned into over 70 long boxes of comics and the auction ends up raising over $27,000.

The group talks about their Thanksgiving plans and how bummed they are to have to spend the holiday with their families. Shirley invites everyone to her place and everyone’s on board except Jeff. He’s going to his father’s house that day. Britta feels vindicated and invites herself to Jeff’s dad’s as Jeff’s therapist. Jeff makes it clear he doesn’t want her there. Good call, dude.

Everyone but Jeff shows up at Shirley’s (Abed brings a 2-year-old package of 7 layer Mexican dip as a hostess gift, how lovely) while Jeff shows up at his dad’s door, gets cold feet and takes off. Britta and Jeff talk on the phone, and she tells him that he needs to come back because she’s already sitting on the elder Winger’s couch.

We start tonight’s episode with Marshall giving his briefing as he usually does as press secretary. A reporter asks about Skip and his pod casts. Does the White House have any comment? Marshall seems surprised at first, but recovers from it quickly. He calls it a “politically ticking time bomb.” Marshall runs upstairs and bursts into a room marked “recording in progress” where Skip is doing his next pod cast. I cannot wait to see what happens tonight…..

Wow – the Idol producers have found a new way to make results shows longer. Thursday night the Top 10 were announced and as each contestant learned they would be going on, they had to sing a “victory song” followed by more criticism from the judges (usually only one).

That’s how you make announcing 10 names last two hours. We started with the Top 5 men. Ryan told each contestant backstage, then they came out to the stage. The audience and the judges then learned who had made it through.

Finally the men get a chance to sing live. Not an easy task, yet several of them definitely made it look easy. But within 24 hours, only five of them will be left. So this couldn’t be more critical because the judges no longer have the last say.

Someone gets injured and leaves the game. I won’t mention who it was here but it dramatically shifts the power structure for one tribe. Meanwhile, and much less importantly, Phillip is handing out membership to Stealth R Us like they’re AOL membership CDs and it’s 1998.

Really, it’s just a big nothing of an episode. Two major things happen but it feels like nothing happens. It could be because I don’t really like any of the Fans.

“Community” Characters To Be Immortalized as Puppets in Upcoming Episode

NBC announced today that the characters of its acclaimed comedy “Community” will be immortalized as puppets in an upcoming episode airing later this spring. In the episode, the study group takes a wild balloon ride that crash lands in the woods and they end up spending a little time with a friendly mountain man, played by Jason Alexander (“Seinfeld”). The announcement was made tonight at the annual PaleyFest panel presentation for “Community” in Beverly Hills, sponsored by the Paley Center for Media.

As the study group recounts their adventures in the woods, which has left them all feeling a little awkward with one another, Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) encourages them to speak about their experience with the use of puppets. The puppets include characters Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Abed (Danny Pudi), Annie (Alison Brie), Troy (Donald Glover) and Chang (Ken Jeong).
