This week is something we’ve always wanted to see: Team Leverage takes on the IRS. I always knew the IRS was evil! Especially when it comes in the form of a guy who thinks he’s Cary Elwes. Of course, he never worked for the IRS in the first place, and Nate Ford and Co. are going to kick his butt something major. When they’re done hanging out with pinatas. No, really.

bieber

People Magazine’s Alison Schwartz announced that Justin Bieber would make an appearance on the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in an upcoming episode. Justin Bieber, the bushy-haired pop sensation whose debut single ‘One Time’ charted in major markets around the world, will play a troubled-teen in the procedural crime drama.

Bieber’s career has been in an upswing since his debut bringing more and more attention from his fans and critics. Justin Bieber was the trending so heavily on Twitter that in May, Twitter updated its Trending Algorithm to identify “topics that are immediately popular, rather than topics that have been popular for a while or on a daily basis.” Justin Bieber immediately dropped from the list of daily trend list.

Comic-Con: The Leverage Panel — Part 1

You know a panel is going to be good when you get a T-shirt as soon as you walk in the door and that’s exactly what happened with the Leverage panel.

There were five T-shirts to choose from: Mastermind, Hitter, Grifter, Hacker and Hitter. For fans of the show (and about 2,000 showed up at Saturday’s Comic-Con), it’s a huge debate to deciding which shirt is the best suited to the wearer’s personality (Mastermind was a huge hit).

The panel consisted of producer Chris Dowdy, Christian Kane (Eliot), Timothy Hutton (Nate Ford), Beth Riesgraf (Parker), Aldis Hodge (Hardison) and — out of the blue — Wil Wheaton (Chaos). No Gina Bellman (Sophie).

Comic-Con: The Joss Whedon Experience

The funniest moments at Comic-Con on Friday? It had to be towards the end of a talk by Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse and Serenity.

The audience snaked around Ballroom 20, all waiting to ask him questions about Buffy and Dollhouse and even Dr. Horrible. Then one questioner dared to ask who his favorite actor was. Of course, most people expected Whedon to soft pedal the answer.

“Well,” he said, hemming and hawing.

Doctor Who – Recap & Review – The Big Bang

Doctor Who
The Big Bang

Can you believe we’re at the end of Series Five of Doctor Who already? It seems like just yesterday we were getting to meet Matt Smith, and now the universe is blowing up.

We open back where the story began: with a younger Amy Pond in Leadworth talking about the weird crack in her bedroom wall, which we now know is a crack in the universe. Apparently the universe was very cheaply made. We see a lot of how everyone thought Amy was nuts as a child, and her first encounter with the Pandorica (from last week)…and her older self. Oh, fun times.

Comic-Con: True Blood Panel – Alan Ball

For fans, S3 for True Blood is only half over. But for producer Alan Ball, it’s on to S4 (the show received a S4 pickup from HBO after only two aired episodes of S3).

The True Blood panel started with clips from the second half of S3. It went by so fast, I can only remember a few things; Sookie in the hospital on life support, Sookie shoots someone, Tara bites Franklin, Arlene screaming, Sam attacks Joe Lee, Bill is blistering in the daylight, Jesus rescues Lafayette from the dark side, Crystal and Jason become a couple and her uncle attacks Jason’s car, Eric tries to choke the queen, Bill and Alcide get in a shoving match, Sookie and Alcide almost kiss (go on YouTube to see!).

What could be left?

Comic-Con: True Blood — Joe Manganiello

The first person introduced for Friday’s True Blood panel at Comic-Con got one of the most enthusiastic rounds of applause. It looks as is Joe Manganiello, who plays newbie Alcide the werewolf, is more than a little bit popular with the fans.

Turns that’s not all he’s popular with. When asked his favorite True Blood moment, Manganiello had this to say:

“My favorite moment came about three days ago,” he hinted. “That’s when [producer] Alan Ball asked me to become a series regular.”

Another fine week with our friends from the Hampton’s! Do any of my readers have a place like the Hampton’s where you travel every summer? My family used to go to the beach every August, but we never went somewhere for the whole summer. My dad was a judge, so we always had to be nearby unless we were on vacation. I would love to go to the Hampton’s though, it looks beautiful!

Now, on to our new episode! We open on Jill, buying lunch from Ian Gomez of Felicity fame. His character, Mac, is the proprietor of a lunch truck that specializes in macaroni and cheese. She is having lunch with Hank and they are going over her proposal for the hospital to open her clinic. He says it looks like the hospital wants a portion of her profits and they agree that’s not fair.
